Good wine. Great food. Gorgeous friends. And a room full of stories and laughter. Just the kind of intimate evening that I love to bring together 💖

‘From Tandoor to Terroir’ was that perfect Romibites rainy evening that gathered together many fascinating stories into one cosy room…
There were the heirloom Indian dishes crafted by Chef Waris Qureshi, Chef Vividh Patil and team, bringing back lost recipes from village kitchens, infused with the warmth of grandma’s love.

There were the terroir-enriched elegant wines that arrived from vineyards around the world, (think Italy’s Prosecco capital, volcanic Chilean plains, heritage French chateaus and vibrant Spanish hills) each one telling a story of its home country, culture and people.

And there were the beautiful people in the room, each with a story of an uncanny connection with another, as if the universe was just waiting to celebrate a special reunion.

Here’s to each and every one of you who came, shared the table, and completed the most perfect pairing 🍷

Kudos to @flipsydee_india @shailsandha and @theclickclick for bringing the world of beautiful wines into one intimate room in Mumbai, and the entire energetic team of @sofitelmumbaibkc for hosting a memorable evening of meaningful connections. Can’t wait to create magic together again 🫶

Did you know ‘wonder’ has a flavour? And I found it at @uri_buri_akko … in every course, in every conversation, and in the quiet genius of legendary Chef Uri Jeremias.
Uri’s incredible knowledge of fish and seafood, his inclusive multi-faith, multi-cultural kitchen, minimalist dishes that pack a big punch, and his Saint-like appearance and approach to life… just some of the things that make URI BURI (‘Uri’ is Chef Uri, ‘Buri’ is the Hebrew name for Grey Mullet) a destination restaurant, drawing people from all over Israel, and the world.

Honestly I can’t explain in words the experience of tasting the Salmon Sashimi with Wasabi sorbet, the Meagre Steak Fillet, the Barramundi with Cauliflower Puree and a handful of other honest, humble, clean, local and seasonal seafood dishes that we tried. It was an emotional, humbling and spiritual experience for me, something that will stay with me for a long, very long time.

All I can say is this… THIS is what I travel for, what everyone should travel for.

A big salute and a big hug to you, Chef Uri. It truly was an honour to meet and chat with you, Sir 🫡 ❤️

Some evenings are remembered long after the last course is served. This was one of them…

An intimate dinner with the very best of food connoisseurs, creators and artists of the city.

Where Indian and Israeli flavours converged, conversations crossed cultures, and every dish became a story of connection.

At one of Mumbai’s most elegant and charming dining spaces @madeleinedeproust.mumbai

With not one but TWO exceptionally talented and creative chefs @avirazon from Israel and @mihir_kane from @fairmontmumbai rolling up their sleeves and serving up the best from both countries

Relished by distinguished guests, and friends who believe that food has the power to bring people closer.

A big thank you to everyone who shared this long table of culinary convergence and diplomacy through food. Here’s to many more stories served, experienced and remembered together 🫶

And a huge hug to @yardushlevari and @yaniyanekrev whose energy made this evening bigger, happier and more delicious than we ever thought possible ❤️

There’s no better way to understand a city than through its vibrant, bustling, thriving local markets, true?

My trip to Dadar Market, Mumbai with renowned Israeli Chef @avirazon and avant-garde city talent, Chef @mihir_kane of @fairmontmumbai became so much more than just a ‘bhaaji-shopping‘ trip. Every herb, spice, flower, conversation and cups of Chai added another layer to the story we would later serve on a plate ✨ (‘Two Kitchens. One Story’ exclusive curated dinner post coming up next!)

Proof that the best collaborations don’t begin in the kitchen. They begin where people, produce and cultures meet. 🇮🇳💞🇮🇱

As they say, you can take a person out of Goa, but NEVER take Goa out of that person ☀️
.
And that's exactly what happened when good friend and super chef Avinash Martins (Cavatina) came visiting to Mumbai for a very special theatre dining experience at Fielia, with yours truly being given the responsibility to plan the theatrics 😜
.
What a brilliantly immersive experience, great food, superbly crafted cocktails and an immersive audience 🌟

Mood for Muja… an intimate evening of tasting luxury in exceptional company.

It was a privilege to curate the unveiling of the award-winning, double-barrel-aged crafted Irish whiskey, Muja, brought to our shores by the good guys at @flipsydee_india

And it was wonderful to see that from the first glimpse of its stunning crystal bottle (crafted in a small village named Muggia near Venice, and hence the name) to the first sublime sip, it was a whiskey that captured everyone’s imagination. That made hosting the whiskey tasting session that much more exciting for me 😃

Bcos for the eclectic gathering of whiskey lovers and dear friends, it was less about technical notes, and more about stories, sensations and shared discovery. Together, we discovered the warm oak, the gentle sweetness, the velvety richness and the delicate spice, the aromas unravelling around the long table, gently at first, and then with gusto, much like the conversations that flowed and spilled over… till very late.

Kudos to the adorable power couple @shailsandha and @theclickclick for giving us such a beautiful tasting experience 💕
