TRIBE OPEN MAT LŪ‘AU | 10.17.26

The first of many.

We’re reaching a point where what we do transcends jiu-jitsu. It was never just about the mats, the training, or the sport. It’s always been about something deeper. The people, the connections, and the community we build along the way.

It’s never been just about what we do, but why we do it.

This is Tribe. And we’re only getting started.

I first met @dill_daddy when I was doing my first perimeter walk. He called me during the walk pretty late one night to give me some advice for long distance. (One thing was to try and sleep with my feet on the headboard because my feet were so swollen 🤣). My feet had swelled so much that Dillion gave me his shoes to finish the walk in since he was a size bigger than me. Dillon knows quite a bit about what it takes to be on your feet for hundreds of miles…Dillion is an ultra runner…and many other things. Dillion has accomplished some amazing things in life and many of which are what some people only dream of doing. Dillion is a dreamer for sure but what separates him from most is he doesn’t only dream, he makes it happen. I have been inspired by him since the moment I met him. I am reminded by him to be more positive and have a different outlook on things.

My friend will soon make history. @tribe.hawaii will be the first to do an open mat at Everest base camp. Jiu jitsu at 17,598 feet above sea level. Surround yourself with people who dream big and achieve bigger. Please support them if you’re able….they’re making history.

Love ya man.
