Across 20 issues, we’ve worked with hundreds of independent designers, experienced pattern technicians, sewists with a brilliant idea, and artists bringing completely new perspectives to garment making. And now, we’re looking for the next designers to join us. You don’t need an established pattern brand or a finished pattern. To submit, you only need an idea. EN 👉🏻/ DE 👇🏻 AD – Let's celebrate today's Tauko launch day! ✨ I’m proudly presenting my Make & Share project for issue no 20 – a very special one with the theme Layers. For this issue, I’ve chosen the JULIANA blouse by Andrea López @patternsbypatterncos . I immediately loved the idea behind this design: a blouse full of movement, with soft layers and a scarf detail that feels like an extension of the garment. My original plan was to sew the long-sleeved version. But sometimes sewing plans change along the way – especially when a summer heatwave hits. So, I was gravitating towards the sleeveless version with the scarf instead. For the photos, I randomly tried the JULIANA with my beloved QUEENIE jumpsuit from Tauko Issue 14 – and suddenly found my perfect version of layers: Two garments, two fabrics, different textures and shapes, coming together as one outfit that feels so incredibly right. For JULIANA, I've chosen this beautiful viscose jacquard from Andrea's shop @berlinerschnitte. I love its soft drape and the subtle texture that comes alive when the blouse moves. What a journey! Maybe that’s the best part of sewing: the unexpected twists and turns along the way. Right? 💙✂️ WERBUNG – Party! Heute ist wieder Tauko Launch Day! ✨ Ich freue mich sehr, euch mein Make & Share Projekt für Ausgabe 20 mit dem Thema Layers zu zeigen. Für diese Ausgabe habe ich die JULIANA Bluse von Andrea López @patternsbypatterncos genäht. Ich habe mich sofort in die fließende Silhouette und das Schal-Detail verliebt. Eigentlich wollte ich die Version mit langen Ärmeln nähen. Aber manchmal ändern sich Pläne. Bei dieser Sommerhitze hab ich die ärmellose Variante einfach mehr gefühlt. Aber der Schal musste sein. DE 👇🏻 / EN 👉🏻 Mein erstes Mal auf der @hhcologne und ich bin immer noch ganz erfüllt! 💖 So viele Begegnungen, Gespräche und Gesichter zu Accounts, die ich oft nur vom Screen kenne. Ein echtes Highlight: Zeit am Stand von @taukomagazine mit Mila ✨ Wir tragen beide den QUEENIE Jumpsuit von @dinidini und ich liebe, wie unterschiedlich er wirken kann: selber Schnitt, komplett anderer Vibe je nach Stoff und Styling. Meiner ist aus einem soften Stoff von @cousette in Toffee (gibt's bei @berlinerschnitte) 🤎 Kombiniert mit dem Longsleeve Lotta von @schnittmuster_berlin Und ganz ehrlich: Der Schnitt saß einfach sofort. Keine Anpassungen. (Selten genug 😄) Ich habe übrigens kaum Fotos gemacht. Einerseits ein bisschen schade – aber gleichzeitig zeigt es auch, worum es mir an dem Wochenende wirklich ging: Zeit mit Menschen, echte Gespräche, dieses besondere Community-Gefühl.✨ Danke an alle, die dieses Wochenende so besonders gemacht haben 💫 Ich nehme ganz viel Inspiration und Motivation mit nach Hause – und freue mich jetzt schon auf die h+h im nächsten Jahr! 🥰✂️ My first time at h+h Cologne – and I’m still buzzing 💖 So many inspiring conversations and finally meeting all the lovely people behind the accounts. A real highlight: spending time at the @taukomagazine booth with Mila ✨ We’re both wearing the QUEENIE Jumpsuit by @dinidini – and I love how versatile it is: same pattern, completely different vibe depending on fabric and styling. Mine is made from a soft denim by @cousette in toffee (from @berlinerschnitte) 🤎 Layered with the Lotta longsleeve by @schnittmuster_berlin. And honestly: it's just the perfect fit! Imperfection deserves a chance. This kimono style jacket is made from flaw textiles. It isn't perfect because it has subtle wax stains, beautiful remnants from the artisan's process. It isn't perfect because it has brown stains for being stored too long. But they are beautiful flaws that hold stories. They deserve a chance to live a new life, instead of being abandoned or end up in the landfill. Saving the fabrics means saving the resources that were invested in producing them, like the raw materials and manpower. 👑 Feeling like a Queen wearing my Queenie jumpsuit 👑 Vorige week bracht Tauko magazine n°14 uit. Deze editie draait helemaal rond de tijdloze charme van denim. Het boek bevat naast de geschiedenis van jeans en heel veel praktische tips, ook stuk voor stuk unieke naaipatronen. Echt een topeditie. Én als je het mij vraagt een must-have als denim lover. Het Queenie patroon liet mijn hart meteen sneller slaan: een jumpsuit met mooie wijde broekspijpen, aansluitend bovenlijf, schattige pofmouwen en dit alles met genoeg edge. Helemaal mij dus! Ik ging aan de slag met een mooi gebroken witte denim van Mind the Maker en die kwaliteit stelt me nooit teleur. Ik doorstikte alles met jeansblauwe garen, om het geheel pit te geven. De pasvorm zat meteen ook helemaal goed: helemaal blij mee dus! Ik plan deze zeker nog eens te maken in een lichtere stof, zoals linnen, met korte broekspijpen en zonder mouwen. Die mooie open rug mag dan zeker getoond worden!
