Back after six months, Bombay! ‘Unshared Childhoods’ inhabits an increasingly volatile, insular, unsafe, and lonely world. Sitting vigil and standing up alongside strangers and loved ones alike is the need of the hour in India right now. We hope this performance offers respite and resistance, and hope. Spurred on by teenage party games, Marquez’s short stories, romanticised tales of messages in glass bottles afloat at sea, and a fascination for compound adjectives beginning with ‘un’, this immersive performance is a collective effort at imagination and un-Othering disguised as a performance, located in the Dead Letter Offices of our minds. MORE ABOUT THE SHOW: ‘Unshared Childhoods’ is an intimate dramatic experiment in empathy in which audience members sit around a patchwork quilt to bear witness to real unsent letters from around the world, dive into our individual and collective pasts, and share food in what feels like a family reunion. This immersive performance is hosted in living rooms – the real site of the drama in our lives – and includes live music and movement. For anyone who knows Dipti and me, we LIVE for and LOVE our dessert! Nothing like a good chocolate cake. This time Dipti requested that we do some fun content for our birthday and SO… we planned some fun challenges. Except, explaining the game and challenge to Dipti itself became the content! 😂 Happy 11 @lovetheworldtoday.in ! No one better to be on this journey with than my sister! Delulu got us started. And somehow, it has also gotten us to 11 years of running a slow fashion brand that celebrates Indian artisans and Indian textiles. It got us to build an all-women team, start our own manufacturing unit, take our first steps towards taking the brand abroad, and somehow survive demonetisation, a pandemic, Meta, GST, tariffs… and a whole lot more. But the biggest gift it has given us is you. A community of customers who became friends. A sister bond that only gets stronger. And the courage to keep dreaming. Sometimes so wildly, so irrationally, so delusionally… that the dreams start becoming real. So, as we inch closer to our 11th birthday, we wanted to celebrate the people who have believed in our delusion, cheered us on, worn us, grown with us and kept us going. This one’s for our supporters of delusion… YOU! ♥️ An entire website-wide sale, for an entire week. Because love grows love. And apparently, delulu does too.
