Gorilla trekking rules:

1) 8 guest allowed per family
2) No more than one hour permitted with the family
3) MUST wear mask at ALL times to protect the gorillas from human diseases
4)Must be 15yrs old to trek
5) Don’t touch the animals

On the preface of her book, ‘Left to Tell’, Immaculée Ilibagiza writes:

“I believe our lives are interconnected and we’re meant to learn from one another’s experiences.”

If this encounter doesn’t prove it, I don’t know what does.

I met Immaculee by chance in Rwanda, then just a few days later our paths crossed again at the airport—right as I was about to buy her book.

Immaculée survived the 1994 Rwandan genocide and transformed an unimaginable story of loss, faith, and forgiveness into one that has inspired millions around the world.

Her story found me at exactly the right time. It reminded me that the world is so much bigger than the one we grow up knowing, and that sometimes the people we’re meant to meet arrive exactly when we need them.

Thank you, Immaculée for your kindness and generosity. I know our story is just beginning.

One of the most unexpected pours in Rwanda.

Imizi Rum—a small-batch, premium rum distilled from locally grown sugarcane is quietly redefining what “Made in Rwanda” can mean.

Some collaborations are meant to unfold in their own time.

A shared vision took a year to become a bespoke Dipti Discovers experience.

Founder Rohan created IMIZI to tell Rwanda’s story through craftsmanship, culture, and a true sense of place.

My vision has always been the same: uncover the hidden gems and meaningful experiences that help us understand a destination beyond what we see.

At 52 years “young”, I’m living the life that 22 year old me could only imagine.

I’ve realized that manifestation isn’t about “hoping” for something to happen. It’s knowing it already exists. It’s recognizing that you’ve already lived these dreams in other versions of yourself, and now, it’s time to claim them here.

I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve had on this journey and thankful for the valuable lessons I had to learn to remind me what I’m truly capable of.

In the 2.5 years I started my company, I’ve built a strong safari knowledge base and a powerful network of fabulous friends in the industry.

The foundation is set & the wheels are in motion. Big things are on the horizon.

Just wait until my 62-year-old self sees what I’m manifesting NOW! 💫✨💫

Calling it “a safari” is like calling New York, London and Paris just “cities.” Each one is completely different.

A game drive in the Maasai Mara is nothing like tracking gorillas in Uganda, or gliding past elephants on the waterways of Botswana.

That’s why I love what I do. I get to share just how extraordinary these experiences are and help clients see the differences.

It’s not about checking a box, it’s about reconnecting with nature, slowing down, and witnessing wildlife in its own world. Safari isn’t one thing—it’s many things. And each time, it’s unforgettable.

I started my safari business because I felt a real gap that wasn’t being filled for me.

Every agent I spoke to felt more like a salesperson than a partner—focused on closing a deal rather than helping me truly understand the safari world to make the best choices for myself and my family.

I’ve been traveling for over a decade. In 2016, my husband and I took our kids out of school and spent the year traveling 13 countries. But even that didn’t prepare me for how complex—and often opaque—the safari industry can be. There are so many hidden rules and unspoken expectations.

What I discovered along the way, is that the people in the safari world are some of the most generous, warm, and welcoming I’ve ever met. They are true ambassadors of their land, eager to share not just their wildlife, but their culture, their traditions, and their deep commitment to conservation. Being out in nature and reconnecting with the earth has been deeply healing for me.

That’s why I started my business: to bridge that gap for others. I love creating meaningful, personalized experiences that go beyond just ticking off a list. I visit the properties myself, test out the routes, and make sure my clients always come first.

It’s not always easy—there are definitely challenges—but I push through because I believe in the work I do. On the other side of those challenges, I’ve found the right people—kind souls who help me learn and grow so I can share that knowledge with my clients. For me, it’s not about the sales pitch. It’s about sharing a passion for travel, culture, and conservation—and ensuring every journey is unforgettable. 💛

In late August 2024, my husband and I spent time exploring Botswana — a place of incredible wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, and rich conservation efforts. It’s one of the last true wilderness areas, where elephants roam freely and the rhythms of nature guide each day.

Our journey began at Kasane International Airport, where we boarded a light aircraft for a 45-minute flight over the floodplains and waterways to the Linyanti Airstrip. We flew over Chobe National Park — home to one of the largest elephant populations in the world — before landing in the remote beauty of the Linyanti Concession. From there, it was a 15-minute game drive to Wilderness DumaTau, with wildlife sightings starting almost immediately.

In the coming days, I’ll be sharing the adventures we had and all that we learned along the way. Stay tuned — the journey is just beginning. 🌍🦁🌅
