South Island Secondary Schools 2026: A Weekend for the Books! 🏃⚡️

What an absolute cracker of a weekend, mainly Saturday, at the South Island Secondary Schools Championships! The energy was high, the competition was fierce, and the results were awesome 👏

The Track & Field Highlights:

* The Double Gold: A massive performance in the U16 100m and 200m for Vernie, taking home gold in both! The 200m was particularly special, clocking a new record of 22.13s.

* Jumping into History: Skye Wilson was on fire, setting a new U16 Long Jump record with a massive 5.42m leap.

* Shooter Star: Huge congrats to Lily Morrison for her Golden Double in the U20 100m and 200m and her Silver in the 400m.

* Podium Finishes: Libby Norfield for securing a hard-earned Silver in the U16 High Jump.

* Athletic Bro: Rocco North always pushing Vernie, Well Done on your Silvers in the U16 100m and 200m, and Bronze and new PB in Discus of 44.42m!!!

* Relay Magic: The CBHS U16 relay team, pictured with the main man Mike Drury, showed quick teamwork to break the U16 4x100m relay record!

More Than Just Racing
It wasn’t just about the times on the clock; it was about the community.

It was awesome to have Blair Williamson from @limitzeronz trackside—one of the legendary sponsors making this journey possible.

A massive shout-out to the support crew—Raewyn, John, Massey, Rochelle, Maia, and the rest of the whānau. Your support in the stands and on the socials mean everything.

Special Moments
A highlight of the meet was finally meeting the team from NZ Predicts in the flesh! Lucas caught up with Vernie for an interview right after that clinical 100m final win—stay tuned for that one.

Captured some incredible photos with fellow champions and friends and whānau. This weekend was a perfect reminder of why we love this sport.

Bring on the next one! Aussie National Champs April 18th!!! 🇳🇿✨

Our babies may have out grown loopy tunes, but we're so grateful to have lots of nieces and nephews to continue dancing with ♥️ We love our Wednesday classes with our nieces 🥳 They're wee groovers and I'm pretty sure they think they're the ones running the show 🤣🙌🏾👍🏾
Thank you to all our cuzzies and bro for continuing to have babies 😁🙏🏾

And a shout out to Stacey for always capturing the best moments in class 😍

Had a sneeky break from food parcels, donor convos, and grant writing. Came for the vibes, left with a full cup. Always a good time 💫

DISCIPLE OF DISCIPLINE DESIGN STUDIO presents ‘WOM/ANS WEAR’.

Known primarily for menswear, Massey embarks on a bold exploration with this collection—pushing boundaries and embracing the unknown to better understand the evolving fashion landscape.

Working exclusively with oversized menswear patterns, Massey reimagines traditional silhouettes to challenge New Zealand’s conventional perceptions. The result: strikingly masculine forms shaped by texture and volume, while still retaining an undeniable sense of femininity.

All closed up! From 6th Dec 2024 - 1st May 2025 WALKlightly retailed on behalf of local designers. This space also acted as a sewing studio and home for circular textiles, encouraging local makers to use factory off-cuts and second-hand fabrics. Principle designers in the shop included @madnomadapparel @agnahamapparel @aletheia_nz @last.nz @pentaloestudio @testarotta_fashion @saustinfraser @flamank_clothing @discipleofdiscipline @offcut and briefly @elodysaddictions .I have met so many clever and passionate people through this journey, and just love being a cog in slowing down fashion, appreciating details and nurturing skills. 🧇❤️‍🔥
