Hey Tofino! My work is on display at the Henry Nolla Gallery at the @wickinnbc from October 10th to January 2nd, as part of Surf Month and the Inn’s 30th anniversary. The collection features large-format prints of the waves, surfers, and landscapes of the west coast, with most available to purchase and take home. If you’re visiting town this Fall/Winter or stopping by the Driftwood Cafe for a coffee, pop in and have a look!

Not quite the cover, but the next best thing. Stoked to get the BACK cover of the latest issue of @surfersjournal

This day, @discojones_ had a questionable surf in some pretty mediocre waves, but on the way out I couldn’t help but notice his elegant frame in the reflection of the tide pool below. We don’t often score around here, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t moments worth capturing. There’s some more exciting stuff showcased in this issue that I’ll post about later on. For now, go grab a copy and see what’s inside.

A powerful day of surf that I won’t soon forget. Looking forward to the stars hopefully aligning again one day. People often complain about how fickle the Pacific Northwest can be, but when it does come together it just makes it all the more special.

On the cover: Tosh Tudor (@toshtudor), Teahupoo, Tahiti. “It was the tail end of a big southwest swell,” says photographer Owen Beim (@owenbeim). “The evening prior was giant—tow bombs. But the next morning, it was 6-to-8 foot, about as good as it gets. Tosh was alone in the lineup for over an hour. He must’ve caught seven or eight perfect waves in a row, getting blown out of barrels with not another surfer in sight.” On the back: Andy Jones (@discojones_), outlined in the intertidal mirror. Photograph by Marcus Paladino (@marcuspaladino).

Inside, we follow primitive tracks back to Pavones, dive for uncut gems, and hang with Canuck shredder Pete Devries (@petedevries). We also rap with The X-Files creator Chris Carter, pull into a heavy Caribbean slab with Dylan Graves (@dylangraves), and view the hazy frames of contemporary shooter Ez Rivero (@ez.rivero). Other sidecurrents include a life-changing ride with former industry exec Troy Eckert (@treckert), a sci-fi journey into intergalactic creation by artist Thomas Lynch III (@thomaslynch3rd), and a study of how Puerto Escondido is being altered by tourism and development. Hit the link in our bio to get TSJ 35.5.
