One month later, we’re still feeling the energy from the Detroit Chinatown Block Party.

This year, we welcomed more attendees, more vendors and even more of our community to Cass and Peterboro. But the Block Party has always been about something bigger than one day.

The Detroit Chinatown Vision Committee is a volunteer-led initiative working to revitalize the neighborhood surrounding Detroit’s historic Chinatown and help build a thriving Pan-Asian district — one that honors the history and contributions of Detroit’s Asian American community while creating a vibrant neighborhood for generations to come.

We’re incredibly grateful to the sponsors, community partners, vendors, volunteers and attendees who brought this year’s Block Party to life. Your support helps build awareness, strengthen community connections and move this larger vision forward.

The party may have ended, but the work continues. Visit the link in our bio to learn more about the Detroit Chinatown Vision Committee, get involved and donate to support the future of the neighborhood.

Good people around me!
Fellow artist and close friend @nicolenacreates and I hamming it up at my show - Art of Noise in Hamtramck, a few years ago.
At an exhibit in an event space curated by @discowalls (Thanks Julie!).
The piece in the background is available for a good home.

Thank you for having me, Detroit.

The city’s economics may have declined due to deindustrialization, but communities grew stronger. Almost tribal, a way of survival.

Also an important place in Asian American history since the legacy of Vincent Chin.

Truly a privilege to play in Chinatown and digging through the city. Thank you @discowalls for opening doors and building bridges🙏 Honored and humbled.
