🇮🇳 WHAT IF OUR FREEDOM FIGHTERS WERE BORN TODAY?

Bhagat Singh. Mahatma Gandhi. Subhas Chandra Bose. Rani Lakshmibai. Ashfaqulla Khan. Udham Singh.

They challenged British rule and fought for India’s freedom. ❤️‍🔥

But imagine if their protests, speeches and resistance happened in today’s world…

Would people celebrate their courage—or label them “anti-national” and “foreign-funded”?

🤔 A question worth discussing: Is questioning those in power against the nation, or is it part of a healthy democracy?

🇮🇳 You can love your country and still question its government.

💬 YOUR TURN: What makes someone a patriot—blind agreement or the courage to speak up?

How do we reconnect and reimagine a new and better life with the natural world?

In her reading list, @disharavii that answers the question with a collection of books and resources.

Now with Musings and More, we dive into the books she loves sharing with friends, where she finds joy, and the authors she wants to understand deeper.

Citizens across India stand in solidarity with the Chita Andolan.

Displaced Adivasi and farming communities in Panna district in Madhya Pradesh have been on symbolic funeral pyres for more than 20 days demanding lawful rehabilitation and compensation before the submergence of their homes by the controversial Ken Betwa river linking project. Instead of dialogue, the government answered with midnight raids, lathi-charge on the rural people and arrests of the satyagrahis, leading to movement leader Amit Bhatnagar’s fast-unto-death in jail.

Citizens and people's movements across India strongly condemn this administrative brutality and stand with the demands of the adivasis .

An ecosystem cannot be measured with a ruler.
In its interim compliance report submitted to the Supreme Court, the High-Powered Committee acknowledged that the Aravallis cannot be defined by a single elevation cutoff. Instead, it is evaluating an integrated Aravalli Ecosystem Landscape framework covering watersheds, deep aquifers, forest corridors, traditional pastures, and sacred Orans.

However, the scientific and ground validation remains far from complete. Satellite models from just three sample districts have yet to be verified with agencies like NRSC and ISRO, and over 680 submissions from across the landscape await thorough review and physical hearings.

While the Committee requested 6 months to complete this critical work with due scientific rigor, the Supreme Court has ordered the final report by 30 November 2026. A 2-billion-year-old range deserves a framework built on thorough science and ground truth, not rushed deadlines.

👉 Swipe through for an in-depth breakdown of what the interim report contains.

Follow @peopleforaravallis for ongoing updates from the court and the ground.

"Itna saaf paani maine zindagi mein pehli baar dekha." 💧
No electricity. No fancy roads. But the cleanest water and air you'll ever see.
Real development isn't what we see in our cities. It's here in villages like this where people are conscious about keeping their natural environment clean.

If not now when?
For more than a decade, scientists have warned that the window for meaningful climate action is closing. Yet emissions continue, global targets remain unmet, and false solutions from “abated fossil fuels” to carbon capture continue to dominate negotiations.

Nepal’s recent flash floods and the climate disasters unfolding across the world are not distant projections. They are the lived reality of communities who have contributed the least but are paying the highest price.

As we approach COP31, we urge the @turkiyecop31 @muratkurum Presidency——-to centre the voices and realities of climatevulnerable countries like Nepal and highlight the decisions and decisions on this massive loss…

Climate action cannot be driven by profit, fossil fuel interests and power. It must be driven by justice, accountability and the survival of people and planet.
We do not need another decade of empty net-zero promises and delayed targets. We need real emission cuts. Real zero. A rapid fossil fuel phase-out not transitioning away. And reparative, grant-based climate finance directly accessible to frontline communities. The once surviving needs this assistance.
If not now, when?Calling all global communities @350_asia @350org @priceofoil @fossilfueltreaty @apwld_ @arrow_women @womenstrongintl @greenpeace @greenpeace.southasia @can.international @climatetracker @climatetrackerasia @cjaourpower and all the delegates, activists friends @mitzijonelle @jepestela @krishnaariola @shibayan.raha @disharavii @fentonlutun @chuckbaclagon @amanullah_porag and all from Nepal… organisations and individuals and governments itself of vulnerable countries including pacific islands- its not about me, u and someone else- climate justice is for everyone no one is in other side- we all are on same boat !!! #climatejusticenow #Nepaldemandsclimatejustice #Nepalaskforaccountability say no to loans @pmonepal @swarnim_wagle @balenshah

You’re magical ✨ Get organized, build community, learn from previous and current social justice movements (especially anti-colonial and anti-imperialist ones), learn theory from the Global Majority (global south), strategize and plan campaigns that target fossil capital infrastructure, hold each other accountable and hold each other in embrace 💖

Comment if you want recommendations for books, podcasts, how to start, etc.
