“WHO CARES THAT YOU READ?…”
🤷🏻‍♂️
It’s good that you want to be a reader, and you should read! You should spend a lot of time reading but it’s not about quantity, it’s about QUALITY!!
💯
It is easy to be scatterbrained in this age of ours. So many things jump out at you at every moment. The goal isn’t to read the most books ever. Ask yourself: Are you digesting the works of MASTER THINKERS?
🤔
“Food that is vomited up as soon as it is eaten is not assimilated into the body and does not do one any good; …”
📚
Digest and spend considerable time on authors that make logical and well thought out arguments. Those who have really MASTERED the subject.

Sure, we must listen and be open to a wide range of perspectives but if those individuals who hold opposing or even similar views are making illogical or poor arguments, then we are just wasting time. “Master” thinkers need not necessarily think the same or hold the same perspective. They can oppose each other.

Reading is a significant investment of time, and so it is wise to spend that time, not just reading, but absorbing, digesting, reading deliberately, and reflecting on it.

@ryanholiday has some great rules to start with:
➡️ Read books that have changed lives
➡️ Read books that have stood the test of time

What are you reading? How do you read? What are thoughts, do you agree? Comment below 👇🏼

DM me if you would like some book recommendations or to share some of your own. I suggest investing in a highlighter and ready to take notes!

Period. Right now is not guaranteed so if I get today, I will use today to move myself forward in the best way I know how. And if I get a tomorrow or to experience life 10 years from now or 20,40,60…I will do the same. I will always chase the me I have the potential to be rather than settle for what I am or what is most comfortable.
🔥
You do you but the greatest gift we are given besides the beautiful people in our lives and experiences is another moment, another chance, another morning, another day.
🎤
“Will you capture it, or just let it slip?” 👇🏼
If you’re struggling to find the discipline, need a guide, feeling lost, or experiencing health issues; DM me.

DON’T WAIT TO BE HAPPY. INSTEAD, ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE HAPPY. NOW!
😊
I really hope you get whatever it is you want out of your life…the house, the business, relationship, money. But, even if you don’t, you can still be happy. I promise.
💯
Find purpose each day. It’s an attitude and a mindset and it’s absolutely available to each of us. Whatever we’re dealing with and whatever season we find ourselves in. If you aren’t feeling very happy right now, you have to actively decide to allow yourself to be happy, and then do everything you can to help yourself get it. Make peace with your past, find gratitude in your current life circumstances, and give yourself permission to be happy.
🗣
I’ve heard people say things like:
“I’ll be happy when I have the body I want.”
“I’ll be happy when I get the job I want.”
“I’ll be happy when I have x relationship.”
“I’ll be happy when I feel better.”
“I’ll be happy when I have more money.”
👇🏼
Make a choice to be happy now. “If’s and when’s” could take an eternity but making a choice right now, happens RIGHT NOW!!
👀
You begin to manifest all the things you envision. Maybe not the way you originally thought but in this serene simplistic way that once you arrive, you wonder why you overcomplicated it in the first place.
⏳
Remember, time is our most precious commodity. Don’t waste your time or put off allowing yourself to be your happiest self. And, don’t look outside yourself to find it. Make the choice to seek happiness and REFUSE to stop until you get it. Figure out what it is that brings you happiness and joy, and then commit to doing more of what you like and less of what you don’t. It sounds simple, and I know it isn’t always easy, but sometimes we make our lives so much harder than it needs to be.
👇🏼
Make sure you’re helping yourself. You deserve it, don’t you think?

The need to transform medicine seems to be a recurring theme. Medicine has been a very successful science and a very successful profession in disease care and disease management. My parents came from a world of, "You trust the doctor. If the doctor says you do ‘A’, that's all you do," and health belonged to the professionals. Now it seems the public is taking health back, and the profession is responding in a way to create a new medicine. What's the impetus that's driving that?

So this is the move to functional medicine creating a broader environment where the doctor is part of a team rather than the driving force behind it.

If you're not doing the lifestyle behaviours, which 99% of people aren’t…there’s no point.
If you're not eating well and if you're not resting and relaxing, you don't need a genetic workup.

The old medical model:
It was not predictive
It was not personalized
It was not preventive
But most important, it was not participatory

New evidence suggests that it takes 17 years for new clinical information to actually make its way into everyday clinical practice. This leaves us in a bit of a hole because we don’t have 17 years to wait. If we project out the increases in chronic disease over the next 17 years, we are going to see dangerous numbers for the human population with type 2 diabetes, auto-immune diseases, autism, and neurodevelopmental diseases. We need a new operating system for medicine designed for chronic disease and we need to adapt more rapidly.

No matter what the topic is, I believe it to be our duty to educate ourselves to the fullest. It’s the greatest feeling to have people in your corner rather than telling you what to do. When you can take the pieces of the puzzle and decide what works best for you. Whether it’s politics, nutrition, your health, your land, your body, your mind, or whatever...your choice/actions determine what happens. If you follow the crowd, you give up your free will and yet still suffer the consequences. Choose wisely, we only have one life. Detaching does not mean losing touch with your community but instead creating a community of self thinkers and contributors.

All Milk Starts Off Raw!!
Raw Milk that is unprocessed, whole, and living, with all of its probiotic bacteria. NEVER pasteurized (heated), homogenized (crushed), or otherwise altered. 100% RAW (and tested for safety)
Pasteurization of milk has been shown to:
* Reduce the bioavailability of calcium and phosphorus
* Reduce the presence of copper and iron
* Reduce Vitamins A, B Complex, C, and E
* Destroy beta-lactoglobulin, thereby decreasing intestinal absorption of Vitamins A and D
* Destroy probiotics, including lactobacillus and pediococcus, and
* Inactivate beneficial enzymes, including lactase, alkaline phosphatase, and lactoperoxidase
Raw Milk Is Packed With Nutrients
After all, it’s designed to fully nourish a newborn.
Just one cup (244 grams) of whole cow’s raw milk contains:
* Calories: 150
* Protein: 8 grams
* Fat: 8 grams
* Calcium: 30% of the RDA
* Vitamin A: 6% of the RDA
* Iron: 6% of the RDA
* Cholesterol: 10% of the RDA
* Sugars: 12 grams
Raw milk is considered a “complete protein,” meaning it contains all nine of the essential amino acids necessary for your body to function at an optimal level.
*It contains raw whey BCAA’s such as leucine, isoleucine and valine which may be particularly helpful in building muscle, preventing muscle loss and providing fuel during exercise.
* Raw Milk is associated with a lower risk of age-related muscle loss
**In fact, several studies have demonstrated that drinking raw milk after a workout can decrease muscle damage, promote muscle repair, increase strength and even decrease muscle soreness
Raw Milk Benefits Bone Health
* This is due to its powerful combination of nutrients, including calcium, phosphorus, potassium, protein and (in grass-fed, full-fat dairy) vitamin K2.
Helps Prevent Weight Gain
* The CLA (conjugated linoleic) acid in raw milk has been shown to boost weight loss by promoting fat breakdown and inhibiting fat production.
Commodity raw milk and dedicated raw drinking milk are categorically different foods. Interested in how to get started or how to find a local dedicated farm, DM me.

Also known as non-shivering thermogenesis or cold thermogenesis (CT). In recent years, cold body therapy has gained serious popularity, because it is linked to numerous health benefits and mental benefits. Today we will dive mainly in to the health side.

Some of these benefits include evidence that exposure to cold:
Speeds up metabolism
🔥 #burnthatfat

-Reduces-
Inflammation
Swelling
Sore muscles

One of the main effects of the cold is that it increases catecholamines and that’s why a lot of fit people and athletes think well this is just a hormetic effect, but you have to realize when the cold is sustained for a long period of time, that has huge effects on the 🧠, humungous effects! It makes the brain work much more efficiently. So, you’re actually able to process thoughts better and that’s the reason this occurs. How cool?!?!😊

Most people who are fit and/or athletes think it’s all about the body, the body, the body. The quickest way to change your game is to change your 🧠. Until you understand that, you just have no clue ⬅️

Cold water is shown to exceed cryotherapy results tremendously because,
A) your head gets wet, which stimulates the vagus nerve
B) you get the hydrostatic pressure of water against the skin.

Be mindful: 👁👁
😴 if you feel you may have adrenal fatigue. *You should feel better not worse after this!
🤔For those with hypothyroid issues, WAIT until you have optimized your thyroid function.

You can practice the method from within the comforts of your home, by taking a cold shower, so you can already start reaping the benefits of cold body therapy today!

My Method:
Typically, I try to wait a couple hours after strength training

I do a couple cold showers every day and a long soak or cold swim once per week

If time permits, cycling hot 🥵 and cold 🥶 is always better because you get better cardiovascular shuttling with vasodilation followed by vasoconstriction

So start slow with drinks, face splashing, and showers before ice baths, freezers, or plunging right in to a lake.

It’s not the first time nor are we the first to try it, but we’ve all been there; some new restrictive diet that promises to resolve all of our issues.

Well here’s what usually happens:
Absolutely NOTHING
OR
We feel better for awhile then life gets life-y lol,
all of our chronic symptoms come spiraling back, many times worse than before.

Then we fall into this vicious cycle of believing that we need to cut more out. We need to restrict more.

The Secret
Restricting food never addresses the ROOT ISSUE!

This is because restrictive diets DON’T:
❌Address stomach acid & overall gut health
❌Fix metabolism that’s functioning poorly
❌Balance blood sugar
❌Address lifestyle factors like sleep & stress

Takeaway
Sometimes we do need to remove certain foods that are causing chronic inflammation, but our goal needs to always end with feeling better and more food, not less.
