Happy Monday family!

〰️ Here's another recap from the 2023 BGWO Retreat where we built new connections, made new friends, learned a lot, spent time with family, and took home nice gifts! Can't forget about the gifts 😄

This weekend was amazing, and we can't wait to continue applying what we've learned and connecting with these amazing ladies.

〰️ Here at Nicely Placed Organizing, we love creating a space where you get to learn about organizing, experience organizing, and create community even through your mess. In order to cultivate a space where you feel welcomed and safe to let your guard down when it comes to organizing, it's important for us to be in community with people we feel safe with as well.

That's what we felt at the '23 BGWO Retreat! Thank you @divineorder4u for being you and for founding @blackgirlswhoorganize! This was a weekend where so many of us as black professional organizers felt seen, safe, and welcomed to be ourselves and discover how much more we're capable of becoming!

〰️ The connections and community building haven't stopped at the retreat, and we can't wait for the Nicely Placed Organizing family to see what's to come as a result of our attendance at this retreat.

••• Tune in tomorrow for a few points of reflection for October as we get ready to move into a new month and closer to the end of 2023! Are you ready for 2024?! ✨

BGWO ROCKS PINK!💖💗💞...and they did it with style! So much fun.
•
Added Component to R3 Retreat is also to give back and support a cause. This year nurse Keia Dykes taught on the importance of Breast Health and early detection. Also, part of the tickets sales proceeds goes to Susan G. Komen for Breast Cancer Research!
•
Bonus: we also had @hermarketingcoach to drop all the gems for us to RESET our business.
Sensational!

“What is for YOU won’t miss YOU.” —Amber Guyton
🤯
I cannot really convey the impact of this statement at last week’s #bgwor3retreat as I sat there in awe and at the same time overwhelmed by God’s goodness! To see the Lord order every step leading to that phenomenal event was nothing short of miraculous! They were many days I doubted that I had contacted the right individuals, didn’t do enough, was doing too much, wouldn’t have enough, but God! He placed the right people in my path from Speakers, sponsors, committee members, conference attendees, photographer to volunteers. Think it safe to say we had everything we needed and nothing was missed! Happy Sunday!!!!🖤🤎

Last week, the wonderful group at Black Girls Who Organize recently hosted their second annual Relax, Relate, Reset (R3) Retreat in the beautiful National Harbor, Maryland.

This event was made possible thanks to some amazing sponsors, including the fantastic Modular Closets as the Presenting Partner and other supportive partners like Neat Method, California Closets, and the National Association of Black Professional Organizers (NABPO). Together, they put together a fantastic program filled with workshops, discussions, and activities that aimed to promote personal growth, leadership development, and community building.

❇️ Among the incredible speakers and panelists, they had the privilege of hearing from Allanna Bell, ACSP board member and the owner of Optimization Dolls. She shared her expertise in a breakout session on custom closets and was part of a panel discussion on expert organization.

BGWO made its grand debut on Instagram with a mission to uplift, encourage, educate, and shine a bright spotlight on other incredible women of color who share a passion for professional organizing. The journey that followed has been nothing short of remarkable!

Their motto says it all: "Sharing our individual gifts collectively." BGWO is all about unity, support, and the power of coming together to make amazing things happen. It's a beautiful story of empowerment, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for this incredible platform! 💪👏💫

We have found it hard to share here the past week and a half, but we know that it's time to keep doing what we love and sharing positivity and inspiration to the best of our ability.

One of our favorite things to do as a company is to highlight other founders in this community. Professional organization is made up of the most incredible small business owners, and it's our greatest joy to share their unique stories, impressive businesses, and thoughtful perspectives with you.

Today, we're highlighting the nine "Organizer Perspective" features we have published so far. Spending time getting to know each of these women has been an honor and we hope you get to know a few of them a bit better through these interviews! Head to our stories for more info and links ♥️

This past weekend was one for the books! I met & connected with so many new faces at the BGWO R3 Retreat, and I received a lot of information I get to put to use with Nicely Placed Organizing.

We had such a great time, got to see @llcoolj, and I got to spend time with family while I was in the area! (Reel coming soon.)

Thank you's go to @divineorder4u, @blackgirlswhoorganize, and all of the speakers and expert panelists for providing us with a space to Relax, Relate, and Reset as we continue as professional organizers! You all are amazing at what you do!!

••• Swipe left to see some of the beautiful faces I had the chance to meet and a few of the slides from speakers that really resonated with me. 🤎✨

From my vision board dreams to real life. 🌟🙌🏽

It’s a bit of an emotional journey when I think about it.

From envisioning these dreams on my vision board to actually watching them unfold, the idea of fortifying my community has always been a heartfelt goal.

And you know what strikes a chord deep within? The simple blessings of finally connecting and hugging some of the wonderful pro-organizers I Iook to for all things organizing.

I’m truly grateful for this network of like-minded souls—it’s the driving force behind my personal growth and our community’s progress.

Let’s continue pouring our hearts into these dreams and bringing them to life together!
