Can writing one sentence 100 times a day rewire your brain? Hit or myth?

Tobi Lütke, the founder of Shopify, says he beat his fear of public speaking by writing “I love public speaking” 100 times a day. Clip from his conversation with @davidsenra (found via @divorceddadsofamerica).

Teachers used to give us lines as a punishment. I’m testing them on my temper. Every morning, by hand: “I am a calm, patient dad.” 100 times, for 7 days.

Tracking daily:
• Snaps (every time I lose my temper)
• Irritability /10 (higher = worse)
• Calm before and after writing /10 (higher = calmer)

Day 1: a broken night with a poorly daughter, then a whole day stuck indoors.
Calm: 4 → 6
Snaps: 15
Irritability: 7/10

Day 2 tomorrow, 7am this time.

Not medical advice, just one person’s honest results.

It is very normal to enter a negative cycle in a long term relationship. That does not mean quit or it’s not right. It means there is work to be done. Avoidant and an anxious attachment kick in.

Avoidance lean away from discomfort
Anxious, lean in words to resolve discomfort
Causing a push pull dynamic

The only way through a hard season is having those hard conversations and hearing each other calmly, peacefully, and respectfully

And how each person shows up will determine if the relationship will survive or die. Will you be able to continue to grow together or apart

Will you be friends still or stuck with each other due to bills and kids.

If you are in a negative cycle turn inward instead of outward that will only hurt your relationship

Some seasons take the hours away. They don’t take the father out of the man.
Love the kids in front of you. Stay ready for the ones you miss. Don’t let the quiet turn into bitterness.
Send this to a good dad.
Like, comment DAD, and follow if you’re walking it out.

There are seasons when you have to get quiet enough to hear yourself again.

No audience. No validation. No need to explain what you’re building or why.

Strength isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s showing up when nobody is watching, keeping your word to yourself, and becoming harder to shake with every passing day.

Steady the mind. Strengthen the body. Stay in motion.

The goal isn’t to become someone else. It’s to become someone you respect. #fyp #explore #trending #fitness Black-and-white close-up of a shirtless man wearing a baseball cap, head lowered and partially shadowed, with dramatic lighting emphasizing his shoulders, chest, and beard. The days without her are the hardest part

I stopped sitting in them and started using them. Learning to braid on a mannequin head so that when she’s here I can get her dressed up for the day

If you’re a single girl dad, get one

I’ve never wanted to be “ happy”. Every decision I’ve made is by considering is this helping or hurting my future, family, health, & finances.

If I hit my future goals… I’m happy
If I’m helping my family… im happy
If my health is improving… I’m happy
If my finances are good… I’m happy

Happy is a byproduct. Not a destination

Blind can’t lead the blind
Bad advice is common
Consideration is the biggest form of love

Happiness is not real if it…
destroys your entire family
destroys other families
hurts your future
hurts your health
hurts your kids
hurts your finances

Life is all about choices
Many people will show you what is important to them
Say nothing, watch , and you will see

Most of the time it’s short term comfort , dopamine, or choosing easy at the expense of future, health, family,&finances

Misery loves company
Don’t let social media , friends , or even family encourage you to make bad decisions

always remember to focus on the beauty of life Don’t let negativity make you bitter or allow hatred to grow. Hate is wasted energy

You are too blessed to be depressed

One of the hardest adjustments to divorce has been getting used to the silence.

There are days when having time to yourself sounds like exactly what you need.

Then the house gets quiet.

No little feet running around. No bedtime routine. No random questions. No chaos.

You can know you made the right decision for your life and still miss the version of it you had.

Both things can be true.

Alcohol and substance abuse comes in many different shapes and forms. There is zero benefit to alcohol and so iety still promotes it as fun. It is self poison that slowly creeps up on you. What starts as a short term solution for a hard day or to loosen up comes at the cost of a life long prison of suffering

Reframe your perspective from they are bad people or irresponsible to they are screaming for help. They are hurting and trying to avoid or escape something in their life.

The way a kid crys for help because hey can’t use words. Their behavior tells you something is wrong without them using their words too.

Happy healthy and fulfilled people don’t have to turn to substances to have fun or get through the day.

If you dig deeper there is probably a lot of shame, guilt,or ignored issues that get avoided which leads Rob Fear, anxiety, & depression control to take over.

The Ego defends and hides this. not allowing anyone to know the truth or ask for help. Telling themselves I’m not weak I don’t need help. I’m not a bad person. I’m not hurting anyone. Look I still have things under control.

And the downward spiral continues to escalate.
only they can decide if they want to get help.

Hurt people hurt people. Including themselves.

The sooner you seek the help the sooner things will get better ❤️‍🩹

You can over come anything
Don’t be ashamed. Everyone struggles with something

And when you overcome it share with the world your journey because it shows others what is possible and anyone can recover. Together we grow
