A month ago today, sweet girl Izzy crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈🐾

Her @dizzywithizzy shared how Izzy taught her that a pet can heal you in ways you may never find in another person. She was there through some of her darkest days, without needing to say or do anything. Izzy showed her that sometimes simply being present with someone who’s hurting can mean the world to them.

She showed her what unconditional love could look like, and through loving Izzy, taught her how to love herself deeper too. 🧡

Found both Izzy and Gracie in the orange sunset while chalking.

Thank you all for keeping Gracie’s memory alive. 🧡

The hardest part of loosing Gracie, was how most people in my life acted as though she never existed just months after she passed, expecting me to just “over it”.

My people, the ones who truly observed the unique bond Gracie and I shared, know just how heartbroken I was (and still am). They bring her name up in casual conversations and continue to share special moments and traits of hers. ❤️‍🩹

They know I’ll carry both my endless love and grief until the end of my story, folding over the page corner of my favourite chapter with Gracie.

Appreciate all the love shared towards her this past week!🥹🥹🥹 Seeing how Gracie touched so many of your souls has meant the absolute world to me.

We’re now 500 together on this journey to honour the lessons our cats have taught us!! 🧡

Introducing Indigo Floral Pearl Collar ✨ You’ve seen this collar before and it’s finally available on my shop!

I originally created this design while preparing for Cat Fest, but I knew I wanted it in the shop too.

When I first saw this floral fabric years ago, I immediately thought of Milo. I could picture how elegant and sophisticated he’d look wearing it, so he became the very first model for this design - and now he’s back to model its newest chapter. 🥹

For the Small collar, I wanted something a little more elevated. I swapped my classic black buckle for a warm gold buckle to bring out the golden tones in the floral fabric. It still felt like it needed one final detail, so I finished it with a natural freshwater pearl.

For Medium and Large collars, I’m keeping the same sturdy hardware I’ve trusted for years. Rather than changing what already works, this Signature version brings the same reliable construction with a more elevated finish. Small details do matter!

Thank you, Milo, for proving from day one that boys can wear florals and now pearls. 🤍✨🐚

Lately, I’ve found myself paying attention to the smallest things even more than usual.

The way she lifts her nose toward the breeze.

The way her whiskers move when she’s trying to figure out what she’s smelling.

The way she stops everything for a moment just to take in the world around her.

Every day, we all spend a little time outside together. Some days she explores. Some days she simply sits and sprawl out in the sun, enjoy the breeze, and watches the birds.

These moments feel different now.

She’s 16 years old. Her fur isn’t as fluffy as it once was, and her oral cancer has made grooming harder for her. Some days I catch myself looking at old photos and remembering the younger version of her.

But then there are moments like this.

Moments where she reminds me she’s still here. Still curious. Still interested in the world around her.

So instead of thinking about tomorrow, I’m trying to pay attention to today.

And today, she sat outside, squinting, and smelled the fresh air. 🥺

Instagram voted… and the mustard yellow buckle won. 💛

If you saw my stories, you know I was debating between the usual black buckle and this mustard one. Normally I lean toward black because it feels a little more “masculine” for the boys.

But the mustard yellow buckle kept calling my name. It pulled the yellow flowers out of the print and gave the collar a little more personality.

Most of you agreed. 💛

So while rebuilding inventory for my cat fest in Nov, I made a small collar yesterday.

One of my goals has been to make at least one product a day. Some days that’s all the time I have - about an hour between everything else life requires.

When the collar was finished… I felt like something was still missing.

That’s when I reached for a freshwater pearl.

I originally bought these pearls to make earrings for my daughter a while ago and still had a few left over. Something about this collar made me feel like it needed one too.

I’m a big believer in little details. I tend to follow whatever detail my heart is drawn to in that moment, and this one felt right.

The second I added the pearl, the whole piece felt complete.

It was a tiny serotonin boost for me, and hopefully for you too. 🤗

As a reminder, Milo has been modeling this print for years without a single complaint.

So maybe boys should wear florals and pearls too. 🐈‍⬛✨

Now I need to know…

Today our sweet girl turns 16. 🎂🐈

I’m convinced she’s an actual baby 😂🥹

Recently, we turned this guest room into Izzy’s room - a quiet space where she can rest away from Milo and a busy toddler whenever she wants some peace and quiet.

When our daughter was born, a friend gifted us this bassinet. Our daughter used it for maybe a few days before deciding she’d rather sleep with me.

Izzy, however, thought it was the greatest thing ever 😂

Whenever the bassinet was empty, she’d make herself comfortable in it. Sometimes she’d sleep in it, sometimes she’d sit beside it watching Baby A. Somehow she always found her way back to it.

While cleaning out the closet filled with baby clothes, donating and gifting, I couldn’t get rid of this bassinet. So I asked my husband to set the bassinet back up because I knew exactly who would appreciate it most. We put her @whiskerfulpets snuggle on top of the bassinet bed for extra cushion and the baby pillow.

Sure enough, the next morning I found her right back where she belonged 🥹

Looking at her in there brings me back to those early postpartum days. It’s funny how certain things can hold so many memories.

She’s almost 16 now, but some things never change.

She still loves the bassinet and any baby beds and car seat.
She still thinks she’s the baby.
And honestly… so do I ❤️

Some days are harder than others. Some days I worry more than I’d like to admit. And then there are days like this, where I walk into the room and find her sleeping peacefully in her favorite spot with the shark I gave her the day I met her almost 16 years ago.

Those are the moments I’m holding onto. Thankful I get to see her another day. 🙏

she had just gotten a fresh haircut and bath, looking extra fluffy and tiny 🥹

this has always been one of my favorite floral pieces on her. The red florals matched her so perfectly and somehow made her crossed little eyes look even cuter 😭

looking back at videos like this feels bittersweet now, but I’m really grateful I captured these little moments of her just being happy, comfortable, and loved.

Izzy has always been such a huge part of Whiskerful. Before Milo, before baby A… it was just me and her for many years. She was there through every stage of my life and quietly became part of the reason Whiskerful even exists today 😍
