POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We asked men on the streets of Amsterdam, during the 30 years of ADE, one simple question: who is your favorite female DJ?
Watch the seconds before the answer.

These are not random people. Most of them work in electronic music and are here for ADE, an event that has supported women and their careers for years. And still, many of them stopped, looked up and needed time to think. “That’s a good question” was the answer we heard the most.
When the names finally came, they were great ones: KI/KI, Charlotte de Witte, Sara Landry, Amelie Lens, Nina Kraviz. The talent is there. So why don’t women come to mind first?

That pause says a lot about visibility. It is not about talent. It is about who gets the headline slots, the playlists, the covers and the conversations.
So now we ask you: who is the first DJane that comes to your mind? Drop her name in the comments and let’s make that list impossible to forget.

ADE 2026, day one. Reporting from Amsterdam.

An intense first day. It opened with the first Brazil panel of the week, Brazil Calling, showing the world its best DJs and the best that Brazilian electronic music has to offer, with Mochakk, Eli Iwasa, Solarce Brothers, nocapz. and Monique Dardenne.

Then an incredible meeting with Jessica DeSouza. We talked about her Brazilian roots, Latin music and, of course, a lot about women DJs. You don’t want to miss this interview, coming here in the next few days.

Networking session with shesaid.so, then an amazing set with Loud Ladies.

The frustrating part: the rain. It came down hard, kept me from Sonaia by Female DJ Society and killed my childhood dream of seeing Jean-Michel Jarre live. I ended up at Black Coffee instead, and it was surprisingly incredible. I was honestly a bit tired of him, but he delivered everything and more in Amsterdam. I hope he does the same in Dubai at his next shows.

Day two starts now. Who should we find in Amsterdam? Tell us in the comments.

$What if your next mix took a fraction of the time? Fleur isn’t a DJ. She told me that straight away. But she knows exactly where we lose hours before a set, and she built DJ Studio to give those hours back. I tried it, I asked her everything, and honestly? I wish I had this years ago. 👀 Watch the full chat, then go see it for yourself. Link in bio. Tell me below: how long does your prep take before a gig? ⏳ 🎙 @djstudio 🎧 Interview by @lucandotta for @djanemaguae @djanemag #FemaleDJ #DJTips #DJLife #DubaiDJ #WomenInMusic$
