Polaroids of the Mid-90s part 7. This was my going away party, summer of 1993, in Rock Island, Illinois, right before I hit the road for Seattle. I lived in a crappy apartment in a drafty old house built in 1865. I paid $150 a month for rent and it was the only moment in my life that I lived alone, so even though it was a bit sketchy there, I have many fond days of time spent in this house. My bestie Jay lived across the hall, and we opened up both apartments for this party. My friend Dave Jordan claims that it was one of the greatest parties he’s ever been to. I recall it being fun, but can’t make that same claim as Dave. It was a very fine sendoff, though. I wish Jay could have been in this picture, but I’m pretty sure he’s the one who took it. I tagged a few of the party guests in this post, but there’s a lot of people I can’t identify. Quad City friends, if you know them, tag ‘em! The house still stands and I always make a point nod driving by it whenever I’m back in the homeland.

1. Why has nobody ever told me how awesome the bird's beak paring knife is? 2. Everyone has told me to be careful with knives.
