Proud to stand with colleagues and friends at the steps of City Hall today to reject ICE and federal actions against our immigrant neighbors. On the eve of mid-term elections, the actions of ICE are meant to scare voters and today, we stood together to say NO ICE in SF or CA.

Our community showed up strong for the D10 Supervisor forum! We had a focused conversation on the needs of young people, families, and the nonprofits that serve them.

Thank you to our incredible moderator Sabrina McFarland, to the participating candidates, and to our co-host organizations: @colemanadvocates @sfbeacon @thefamilyservicesalliance @sfececoalition @safesoundkids @humanservicesnetwork_sf the Juvenile Justice Providers Association, and CPAC.

A special shout out to @marshallphoenix for hosting us in their beautiful space ❤️

D10 young people and families made their priorities clear. Now it’s time to vote on November 3rd. 🗳️

I’m a huge fan of Ryan Coogler’s movie Sinners @sinnersmovie

In actuality @djlbrookter and @theoellingtonsf are church goers & I’m the sinner in D10.

We were honored to host tonight’s District 10 Candidate Forum at Thurgood Marshall Academic High School, bringing our community together for an important conversation about the future of children, youth, and families in our district.

Grateful to the candidates for sharing their perspectives, to the community members who showed up and engaged, and to everyone who helped make this evening possible.

Schools are more than places of learning, they are anchors in our communities. We are proud to open our doors for conversations that elevate the voices, needs, and priorities of the families we serve.❤️

Thank you Mayor Agnos for your perspective, your endorsement and your confidence in our campaigns.

District 10 is not for sale.

@djlbrookter and I are banding together to tell billionaires and corporate PACs that District 10 voters can’t be bought. On November 3rd, you have the chance to elect a Supervisor who will continue to work for our communities, not corporate interests.

A few weeks ago, I started a gaming club at Thurgood Marshall called “The BUG Club” in honor of all the young people we’ve served through Bayview United Gaming.

I was told to expect about 9 students.

First meeting: 25 showed up.
Second meeting: 30+ showed up.

Eventually, the school had to CAP the club because of the demand!

But BUG Club is bigger than gaming. We’re building community, exposing students to college and career pathways in the video game industry, and working toward creating Thurgood’s first esports teams. We already have colleges reaching out about opportunities to connect and compete with their collegiate esports programs!

Then Supercell invited our students to their Employees & Families Fleet Week Event—and it was TOP TIER! Huge love to Tasha for always bringing our young people into incredible spaces and making them feel like FAMILY. Our students had a blast, and three even walked away with a 3D printer, projector, and VR headsets!

Gaming gets them through the door.
Community, exposure, relationships, education, and opportunity are what we want them to walk away with.

And while BUG continues to grow, I never want to forget the people who supported us when this was just a dream.

Flowers to DJ Brookter, who helped make it possible for YCD to fiscally sponsor us at no cost when we received our first YFYI grant, and Theo Ellington, who financially supported our first-ever Bayview United Gaming Fest at the Bayview Opera House.

You both believed in BUG early, and I haven’t forgotten it.

What a way to start the school year.

The BUG Club is here and we’re just getting started.

It’s Not a Game. It’s Community.

One of the teams I am proud to be part of is the San Francisco Child Care Planning & Advisory Council (CPAC), where I serve as Strategy & Policy Manager. Together, we advocate for policies, investments, and partnerships that support young children, families, and the early care and education community.

Tomorrow, we are joining an amazing group of community organizations to co-host the District 10 Candidates Forum, focusing on issues affecting children, youth, and families.

For my San Francisco friends, especially those living in Bayview-Hunters Point, Potrero Hill, Dogpatch, Visitacion Valley, Sunnydale, Little Hollywood, and surrounding neighborhoods, this is an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates!

📅 Tuesday, October 13
⏰ 5:30–8:00 PM (Forum begins at 6:30 PM)
📍 Thurgood Marshall Academic High School
45 Conkling St., San Francisco

🍽️ Food will be served.
