Let’s give it up for our FIRST EVER TANDEM 300 MILE FINISHERS. 👏👏👏

Yeah… you read that right.

300 miles. On a tandem. Together.

Imagine spending 300 miles on the same bike with the same person. No personal space. No getting away from each other. Just gravel, suffering, and each other for over 20 hours... (WHICH IS SO IMPRESSIVE!!!)

Honestly, the real question is: would you still be able to be in the same room with each other afterward? 😂

Huge congrats to our first ever tandem Long Voyage finishers, Tanya and David Konshak. You two are built different.

Champagne and belt buckles. One word to describe our 300 mile GravelWorlds Tandem ride: EPIC
One of the best finishes we have had.
Some race recap
1. The start was fast and hot. In a great group and then hit a train and dropped a chain. We were able to catch back up to our group and pulled them the whole time. We both noticed they were doing a pace line behind us in order to stay with us.
2. Mile 60 a quick stop for some water and to turn the light on.
3. We were with a group for the whole night. Critters, MMR roads, trails and a 2am stop at a cooler for water that was put out for us. I had been out of hydration since midnight.
4. The group broke up around 3:30 after a gas station stop. We watched a lightning show till the early hours but never ran into rain.
5. Before 6am we made is to 210 miles and our drop bags. We were moving a bit slower and it was definitely harder getting back on the bike at this stop.
6. 100 miles left and the sun came out and the temps were rising and so was the climbing.
7. We were coming into the airplane museum around mile 260 and then we got a little energy back. We had people saying we were mentioned at the start of their races and so many people were cheering us on. The tandem love is real. The 150 mile pro men’s field came flying by us and it was so crazy to watch. Chase gave us a shoot out. And we ended up seeing them later on in the course and took a draft from them for a few minutes. We may have burned a few matches trying to hang on to them but it was all for the moment.
8. The daunting last 30 miles. Long and slow. Body was aching and raw. I swore at every hill.
9. The Finish. Tears and cheers.
Many people ask why we race tandem. Because we push each other when we need too and we share every moment together. All the hard work and all the training is for that one moment. And it paid off. The best finish. 🥇 @capacity_coaching @colewis_ @brokenspokebicycles @gravel_worlds @fast_pickle @boltskinshave @never.second @rolfprima @chasethebiker @redshiftsports @exposure.lights @cedaero
