As the weather seems to be cooling down quite a lot, we’ve been reminiscing about the summer and festival season. One of our favourites we did at the end of August was @campercalling … even though it was muddy, it was still a brilliant weekend!
Here’s our highlights!

If you’d like to join us for one last gathering of the season, we will be in Bedfordshire for our Season Wrap Party in a few weeks time!

Appreciation post incoming...

A couple of weeks on from Kendal Music Festival and we’re still buzzing... and there are so many people who deserve a huge THANK YOU for making it happen ❤️

To our brilliant sound engineers at both @mjw_audio and @brewery_arts_kendal - thank you for all your hard work keeping everything sounding fantastic, act after act, throughout the weekend.

To all the venues that got involved, opened their doors and hosted such a fantastic range of local artists, thank you! And to all of their teams, who worked incredibly hard throughout the whole weekend to keep everything running smoothly, look after the artists and audiences, and create such a brilliant atmosphere - we really appreciate everything you did.

A special thank you to the team at @brewery_arts_kendal for stepping in at short notice and hosting one of our main stages. Your support made a massive difference and we’re incredibly grateful.

To all of the amazing artists who took part - thank you for filling Kendal with music, energy and good vibes. You created a real buzz around the town, and it was fantastic to see so much brilliant local (and not so local) talent getting out there and being heard 🎶

Of course, a massive shout-out to our awesome photographers @ianwoodphotography and @savsmithphotography1 who spent the whole weekend dashing from venue to venue with their super-heavy camera kit, capturing the music, the people, the atmosphere and all those brilliant little moments 📸 We can’t wait to share more of their amazing work.

And then there was the crowd...

To everyone who came along, packed out the venues, wandered around town, discovered new artists, supported local venues and businesses and, of course, had a proper boogie - thank you! 🕺💃

Kendal Music Festival is completely free ( brought to you by @kendal.bid ) and is all about supporting local talent, celebrating our fantastic venues and bringing people together through music. So, seeing the town so lively, the venues full and so many people enjoying themselves was priceless ❤️

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this year’s festival so special.

We’ll see you next time! 🎵

Despite some technical difficulties, Serenada live and loud was a huge success!

Serenada is a new streaming platform built specifically for independent music.

It pays more per subscriber.

It’s human-made music only. No AI-generated music allowed.

It uses a fan-centric royalty system, so the subscription paid by fans only goes to the artists they actually listen to, rather than being pooled across the platform.

And artists and fans can both earn by inviting people onto the platform.

Thank you to all the artists that made this night possible:
@damienordame
@i.a.m.n.o.r.a
@sevabakhadi
@zarina_kazi
@harrietdagnallmusic
@sherwood.sound
@we_cry_wolf_band
@doadmusic

And thank you to the incredible team of people that helped me.

Meet the Artist: Doad

Manchester’s Doad writes songs that feel like conversations you have at 2am. Rooted in the city’s DIY scene, Doad pairs raw, confessional lyricism with warm guitars and textured production that sits somewhere between folk, indie, and alt-rock.

Known for playing small rooms across Manchester and the UK, Doad’s music is built on honesty first. With a focus on storytelling and atmosphere, tracks pull from everyday life in Manchester: the bus rides, the pubs, the people you don’t forget.

He will hold focus on a future filled with songs, community and free expression.

For fans of/ influences: John Martyn, Ray Lamontange, Ben Howard

You can find Doad on all socials and Spotify.

Doad plays The Tipi at 17:15 on Saturday 29th August. Not to be missed!
