Super happy to have led this LAB with @istitutomarangoni_miami students for the final exhibition at @docamiami 💜

We received wood from Doca and tiles from @neolithofficial and were challenged to create something from scratch.

And that’s how the MYTH Sculpture Collection was born, featuring:
🤍 Narcissus “the invisible mirror”
🐚 Orpheus “the sculptural room divider”
🧜🏽‍♀️ Mermaid Tail “the coat rack”

This collection was created by ID and Fashion students. Thank you all for your incredible work, you were amazing🥹❤️ @sophiarasak @sky_the_kaiju @harljolocuaresma @dudacgomes @wearsjilly

For this kitchen, we wanted to create a space that feels timeless, sophisticated, and effortlessly inviting.

Custom door fronts, the dramatic marble-look waterfall island makes a statement, while rich walnut cabinetry, warm neutral tones, and subtle brass accents bring balance and warmth to the design.

Every material, finish, and detail was carefully selected to bring together beautiful craftsmanship, understated luxury, and everyday functionality. 🤎

The Fall Semester was already in its fifth week when the Fall Quarter came into full swing this October.

The studios welcomed an invigorating convergence of creativity, collaboration, and intellectual exchange. The open studio became a dynamic hub of activity, accommodating Digital Graphics, Drawing, and Interior Environment courses alongside collaborative projects for upcoming exhibitions and new competition presentations introduced by industry partners.

This vibrant pace culminated in another periodic Awards Day - a spirited celebration recognizing students in President’s and Dean’s List, Faculty Choice Awards, and outstanding Spring | Summer projects.

What a remarkable week of creative momentum, active engagement, and meaningful moments of achievement. #interiordesign #fashion #creative #collegelife #october

But is it though?

I’ve been seeing a lot of opinions lately that open-concept interiors and kitchens are slowly fading away.

Honestly? I’m not really seeing it.

From a kitchen designer’s perspective, I think open-concept spaces still have a lot to offer, especially when they’re designed thoughtfully. It’s not just about knocking down walls and creating one big room. It’s about how the kitchen connects to the dining and living spaces, how the sightlines work, how you move through the room, and how everything feels together.

A well-designed open kitchen can feel inviting, functional, and incredibly connected to the way people actually live.

Are we seeing more interest in defined spaces and a little more separation? Absolutely. But I don’t think that means open concept is disappearing.

When it’s designed right, I think it’s here to stay.

What do you think, are you ready to close the door on open-concept kitchens, or are you still loving the open layout?

One of the questions my clients ask me all the time: handleless or handles?

Handleless kitchens definitely create a cleaner, more seamless look—but I still love incorporating handles where they’re practical, especially on panel-ready refrigerators and tall pantry doors.

Great kitchen design is always about finding the right balance between aesthetics and functionality.

There’s nothing better than coming back to work with a @doca_theofficial @doca_usa training session hosted by @docaboston !

Over these two days of training, we had the opportunity to review new finishes and door styles that really caught the attention of our dealers. It was a great opportunity to share our latest offerings, exchange ideas, and learn together.

To everyone who joined us, thank you so much for your time, enthusiasm, and interest in learning more about the DOCA line. We truly appreciate you being there! Some of you are new DOCA dealers, so...welcome to our family!

For those who couldn’t make it this time, we hope to see you at KBIS 2027 or during our next training session.

We had 35 people join us over the last two days. Some had to leave earlier, so apologies to those who couldn’t make it into the final group picture! 😊

Looking forward to seeing you all again soon! 🤍

Are these 2026-2027 Kitchen upgrades worth spending the extra $$? Make sure to watch till the end to see which kitchen upgrade is not worth it at all. What else did we miss?
