Man listen…no one told me I was going to look up and then my first born would be going to college!!

What a journey and ride this has been! Cameron came into my life in 2008…I was young and didn’t know the first thing about being a mother. And top that with being an only child…I didn’t know the first thing about raising kids or anything! God knew I needed my mother to guide me and he allowed her to live— not as long as I would have liked but long enough to show me how to be an amazing mother to my baby boy. Some may know and some may not know that Cam’s biological father has never been in his life. At least not consistently….I think the last time he saw Cam he may have been 7 or 8…he’s 18 now….you do the math. That being said…I raised Cameron pretty much on my own. HOWEVER, My village and community never failed me when it came to my Cameron. My linesisters never failed me when it came to my Cameron. My father @coachcyalexanderiii never failed me when it came to my Cameron. My NC and SC family never failed me when it came to my Cameron. My ATL sisters never failed me when it came to my Cam. The positive black men in my life never failed me when it came to my Cameron. My pastor never failed me when it came to my Cameron. And the list goes on and on. That to say, regardless of his circumstances, Cameron has always been loved and never failed by so many ppl!

And now that he is entering the next chapter in his life…the blessing and anointing will CONTINUE! Cameron is a Baby Bison and following in the legacy of my father, my uncle, a bunch of aunties, my niece and myself! We love you Cam!!! 💙❤️🦬

Thank you to everyone that stopped by to “send off” Cameron!! My village and my community has shown up for me in ways I can’t even begin to explain. His ATL family and his DMV family have been there for his journey and this week he starts the next chapter of his life!! Mommy is so proud of you son! December brought in the Year of Firsts. I’m grateful for making 47. I’m thankful for the grace. I’m fortunate to have support that makes it easier to smile. Over the last few months and weeks I’ve ebbed and flowed. Today was perfect: peaceful, no deadlines… and it marked another first. And it was a hat tip to something E and I did something together for the first time. Just know I feel like I’m starting this lunar return with expertly exfoliated skin and a sense of clarity in how I move in this next chapter.

Thank you all for the love, calls, care and text today. For the folks who know I will spontaneously cry or just mask really well—the little girl in SW with her head held high thanks you and sends the love right back.

And as the last photo suggests, I may be finding my glow and all, but be clear, it’s still on sight for cancer.

Today I hosted my 2nd Annual Hospitality Hottie Vision Board party and it was ALL THE THINGS!! 🥹🤩! So amazing to see all my girlies showing up for my event! I love y’all! 🙏🏽💜

But yes about today…No makeup, no filters, kids running around downstairs enjoying being kids, pets…yes my crazy doggie barking in the background…anything real that could have happened today…did just that! 😂And that my friends is very much what my vision board party represents! Even with the last minute time change today lol…very much a “Joi move” as @jaidabe and @thefavoriteerica would say! 😂🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ But anyway…I digressed!!😒🤣

Let me tell yall one thing about my EE. Baby when I tell you she lived LIFE to the fullest…she lived life to the FULLEST! One week ago today at 4:13pm/CST (314 for the LOU IYKYK @jessica_nichole03 😘💜), my BB transitioned. We had planned to go to the #cinnamontoastcrunch party because why not go AGAIN…we went at the end of September and had a BALL! We had tickets, T-shirts made…the whole nine…let’s just say I had a “vision”….in other words “Joi has an idea for an IG post” Erica would say 😂😂 and then roll her eyes. 🙄 Then she would secretly wink at me like “yeah bitch I’m wit it” 😂🥹.

We tossed around the idea of not going but quickly realized that E would have wanted us there…having a good time and celebrating life!! And the most amazing thing about Saturday was that SHE WAS THERE!!! She was all, up and “thru DERE”…hear me! Every time the DJ would drop one of her songs…there was just an energy in the space…in that exact moment IT was absolutely beautiful 💜🕊️. One thing we did over our 20+ year friendship was turn up so it felt like in that moment she was letting me know I’m okay friend! 🙏🏽🫶🏽
