At last… some really great news for the Palisades! A dedication ceremony was held on May 9 for the new Temescal Canyon Dog Park, with a wonderful turnout from many of the people and community members who helped make it happen — along with plenty of adorable dogs. New trees were planted, and there was an atmosphere of joy, hope, and positive energy that the Palisades really needed.

This project has been over 30 years in the making, and Leslie says 40 years! It did not come easy. Leslie Campbell co-spearheaded the effort alongside Lynn Hylen Miller and Carol Ross along with many other dedicated community members who spent years navigating meetings, red tape, delays, and community outreach to help bring the dog park to life. Leslie Campbell also launched a petition supporting the project that gathered over 4000 signatures

The dog park had finally received approval before the Palisades fire, but the disaster created additional delays just as the community was preparing to celebrate the victory.

Now, after decades of persistence, the Palisades is finally getting this long-awaited gathering place for both people and their dogs. The new dog park is expected to open by the end of 2026 — and honestly, there could not be a better time for something this joyful. Palisades we got this!

We are still here. Still connected.
Still holding onto the place that held us.

This is what “home” looks like.
Not property lines. Not paperwork.
People. Community. History.

158 housedholds are not asking for anything extraordinary — just the chance to work together to get all the residents home as soon as possible.

Thank you @pacpalicc for hosting a great community event!

Some good news for the Palisades! The long awaited and much anticipated Palisades Dog Park is poised to cross the finish line. CD11 and LA Rec & Parks are conducting a virtual community meeting on November 6th, 5:00-6:00pm, to discuss the details and take your input. This project has been in the works for 4 decades and finally got the green light and then the entire town got wiped out. There is no better time than now to bring this community a joyful place to gather and enjoy this long desired amenity! Please join us for the meeting and be sure to RSVP (QR code on the flyer.)

A very special thanks to the Palisades Dog Park Working Group who provided the photos!
