🛩️✨ Ready for takeoff, friends? This Monday, Memorial Day, the atrium of BLDG 12 will transform into a paper-powered flight zone!⁠

🎉📄✈️— 3RD ST CREATIVE ARTERY (@3rdst_sfscreativeartery), Breadbelly (@breadbellysf), and Standard Deviant (@standarddeviantbrewing) have joined forces to celebrate National Paper Airplane Day from 10am–2pm, May 25th, in the soaring public atrium at Pier 70's historic Building 12. ⁠

Come fold, fly, and flex those origami + aerodynamics skills (or just wing it 😏). Whether you’re a seasoned paper pilot, a curious kid, or an adult reconnecting with your inner 8-year-old, there’s room for everyone on the runway.⁠

Bring your best folds, your most questionable engineering ideas, and maybe a friend who takes competitions way too seriously. 🏆😂 See you in the skies, Pier 70 style. 🌊✈️⁠

The Flight Plan⁠

10am-2pm⁠
• Paper airplane making supplies will be on “the deck,” just two flights up the red stairs.⁠
• We’ll be joined by Artist Brian Moore, aka “Mr. B.” For a bunch of years “Mr. B” hosted the Art Rocks Club House on Saturdays at his studio at Hunters Point Shipyard. An artmaking space for kids and their caregivers. He’s bringing all kinds of supplies for paper pilots of all ages to transform folded paper into aeronautical masterpieces.⁠
• Self-guided plane making, decorating, and test flights in the public atrium.⁠

11am-1:30pm⁠
• Face painting for kids on “the deck.”⁠
⁠
12pm-1pm⁠
• A low-stakes, high-flyin’ paper airplane contest, emceed by Dogpatch Art & Business Association (@destinationdogpatch) President Adam Gould.⁠
• We’ll have 3 official launch locations, ground crew to keep things honest, and heats in distance, accuracy, and design.⁠

In-flight Services:⁠
• Breadbelly will have shave ice and various in-flight concessions for paper pilots of all ages.⁠
• Starting at noon, Standard Deviant will be offering beer flights for the parental paper pilots.

It's FINALS week, everybody! No, we're not talking exams or NBA. It's @DogpatchBocce Tournament time. The Spring Trophy is on the line. ⁠

Will Bocceness prevail? Maybe the Dirty Rollers will go dynasty? Or will Dogpatch Saloon dominate? Do the Butchertown Bandits have an X factor? ⁠
Maybe Mission Imbocceball is not mission impossible after all. Or will the Incredibowls eat us all for breakfast? And what if the Dogpatch Howlers are hot, coming off a winning streak in the Ferry Building league with their fearless leader @brucekinhuie?⁠

Highlights from Thursday’s Dogpatch Design Studio Tour organized by the Dogpatch Arts and Business Association (DABA). Some 45 people walked from The Museum of Craft and Design to Something Else Studio to FutureForms to Letterform Archive finishing up at interior design studio Chroma. Dogpatch is fortunate to have these creative forces who keep our maker culture alive.

We are working on a dedicated bench in Progress Park that doubles as a vault for all things bocce: scoreboard, measuring tool, koozies, bocce set, and the modified rake.
