I don’t think we could’ve squeezed much more into September if we tried, but i would not have it any other way.🤍

Some meet-cute stories feel as though they were pulled straight from a romantic comedy, and Grace and Connor’s is one of them. The two met while taking a lifeguarding course at summer camp and began dating that same summer. When they returned to college, they continued their relationship long-distance until life eventually brought them back to the same area. The rest, as they say, is history.

Grace had always been drawn to the timeless elegance of Southern weddings, while Connor loved history and historic architecture. From the moment they toured The Merrimon-Wynne House, they knew its Southern charm and rich character made it the perfect setting for their wedding.Their dog, Sadie, added even more joy to the celebration as the couple’s adorable ring bearer.

Working with Grace & Connor was pure joy because they are just so fun and kind! Sometimes I wonder how I get so lucky to meet incredible couples and capture their special days. 🫶🏻

Every wedding timeline should reflect your priorities, not a cookie-cutter schedule. For this couple, that meant making a few intentional choices:

✨ They skipped a first look, but completed nearly all wedding party portraits before the ceremony so they could still enjoy part of cocktail hour with their guests.

🍰 Instead of waiting until later in the evening, they cut their cake immediately after their reception entrance. They literally entered the room, danced straight to the cake, and then flowed into their first dance and welcome speech. By taking care of those formalities early, we kept the momentum going.

🥂 After a plated dinner inner, the only remaining formalities were toasts and family dances.

🍔 We waited until late in the evening to serve late-night bites, giving guests a second wind after plenty of dancing and mingling.

There isn't one "correct" wedding timeline. The best timeline is the one that's thoughtfully built around how you want your wedding day to feel.

Their timeline:

10 am | Venue opens, hair & makeup begin, planner arrives, decor setup begins
1:30 pm | Groom's party portraits
2:30 pm | Bride's party portraits
4:30 pm | Ceremony
5 pm | Cocktail hour
6 pm | Reception begins
• Introductions
• Cake cutting
• First dance
• Welcome speech
6:15 pm | Plated dinner service begins
7:30 pm | Toasts x4
7:50 pm | Family dances
8 pm | Dance floor opens
9:30 pm | Late-night bites
10:45 pm | Last guest dance
• Couple-only last dance
• Bubble sendoff
11 pm | Reception ends

What part of your wedding day would be your biggest priority when building the timeline?

Amy & Frank’s wedding last month had the most incredible team of vendors. Every detail was thought out perfectly and it felt like an event that not only celebrated two peoples union but that also showcased some incredible creatives in the industry.

Cheers to these two and this beautiful day!
