What truly stresses owners out? 🤔

We asked our trainer what they think the biggest client pain points are when forced to choose between common behaviors.

The winner by a landslide?coming home to a destroyed house. 😔

What behavior caused you the most stress with your dog?

Impulse control isn't natural, it's taught. And we teach it @HellaK9s Group Class.

From working with small, high-value rewards (like tiny pieces of hot dog!) to building focus in a chaotic environment, we break down these big skills into small, achievable steps.

The goal?

A dog that can handle distractions and come when called.

If your dog needs to learn their "off switch," get into our next session. Comment "CLASS" to reserve your spot.

Some people think neutering will fix their dog’s behavior, but it doesn’t work that way…

Most of the dogs we train are already fixed and still struggle with reactivity, anxiety, or lack of structure.

What actually helps is training that builds communication and boundaries.

Give your dog time to mature before making that decision - focus on understanding and guidance first.

Did neutering change your dog’s behavior?

Most dog owners don’t realize how fast they can crush their dog’s confidence.

Yelling NO over and over might feel like correction, but to your dog it’s just noise. It doesn’t tell them what to do, it only tells them they’re wrong.

Real training is about setting your dog up to succeed. Instead of shutting them down, guide them toward the behavior you want to see.

When you replace NO with clear direction, you’ll see the confidence switch flip almost instantly.

What’s one habit you think you might need to change with your own dog?

Letting dogs meet on leash might seem harmless, but it can lead to real problems…

The leash restricts their body language, which can cause miscommunication. When that happens, dogs may go into fight mode because they don’t have the option to walk away.

It also builds habits that can lead to leash reactivity. If your dog gets used to meeting every dog on walks, they may get frustrated when it doesn’t happen. That frustration often turns into lunging and barking.

You also don’t know the other dog. Even if the owner says they’re friendly, many dogs are selective. It’s just not worth the risk.

If you're a dog trainer who actually trains the owners too, just know you're doing it right.

Too many people come to us after spending thousands on training, but have no idea how to maintain it. A 30-minute go-home lesson isn’t enough…

Training the dog is one thing. Training the human is the real job.

Telling your dog “off” or “no” when they jump doesn’t work. Here’s why…

They don’t speak English.

No seriously... they don’t.

If you actually want to stop the jumping, you need structure, not just yelling random words.

Leash the dog. Correct the behavior. Stop encouraging it.

Or grab a spray bottle if you're feeling spicy.

Training over talking. Every time.
