Now in English for my Dolores’ friends☺️
Last month I visited the wonderful Edinburgh and learned a little about the traditional Scottish tartan fabric.
Walking around the city, I met ‘tartan’ Heather, a stylish Scottish woman who spends her days working at her hand mill. Heather uses local sheep’s wool to create thick and resistant pieces. She told me that, after separating and untangling it, the wool is hand-twisted with a spindle to form yarn. The spindle is turned to intertwine the fibers, creating a yarn strong enough to be woven❤️.
Heather also dyes her pieces without using any chemicals. The one around my neck, in the photo, was dyed with turmeric and pomegranate.
In addition to meeting this typical Scottish woman, I visited a local artists’ fair in a beautiful building, with one of the oldest restored ceilings in the country. I also saw many stores with different types of tartans, and I could see a great incentive for circular fashion there🙏🏼 It was an unforgettable trip :)

The energy today was jubilant 🌸 Folks were blossoming, coming out of their shells, and trying new things. I loved meeting the new scrap and yappers and catching up with our returning friends. Thank you thank you for keeping me grounded and growing in this practice with me 🌼🌼🥀💐💐🪷

Greetings from Maastricht!

The 16th edition of @fashionclash_festival happened on the weekend of November 15th - 17th at various locations of Maastricht, Netherlands. The multidisciplinary and international festival is co-created with a new generation of fashion designers and artists.

The program of the festival included fashion performances, exhibitions, film program & awards, workshops, co-created projects and various other program components throughout the city.

One of them was the Pop-Up Sales, in which I proudly took part of working in its production that gathered 15 upcoming designers from the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Kenya, China, etc. Each participating designer brought their view on fashion reflected on unique pieces of clothing, jewelry, bags, among other things.

The Pop-Up was more than an initiative to find exclusive items, it was a friendly space to encounter a new generation of designers, get a close up look at their creations and learn more about their practices.

Find below the list of the Pop-Up Sales designers:
