Ladies and gentlemen of the clock-drawn night you are given notice that I shall be stalling out tomorrow @adamsantiquesfairs in my regular pitch W5 and shall have with me an actual tantalisation in the form of this remarkable Victorian child’s Pearly King outfit, a tailored wonder with South Seas notes sewn into the fabric backed with a chain mail of Mother of Pearl buttons framing a pair of silk Empire postcards, a museum piece indeed and arguably the most stunning piece of antique clothing I have been lucky to obtain since a 1935 Spratts Dog Dress and Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart’s very own tweed shooting jacket from Henry Poole. In addition to this I shall also have a mahogany cabinet of antique fishing tackle for the soul, a shipwreck’s worth of Sunderland Lustre ware, a pair of late 18th engravings of London Bridge and Westminster Abbey and an array of other delights. Doors open at 10 and persist until 4.30pm, there is a hatch serving hot tea and sausage rolls, nearest Underground station is dear old Pimlico. I look forward to your good company. SOLD.

Tomorrow I shall be stalling out at your best kept secret The Highgate Brocante, an occasional and impromptu open air antiques and collectibles market organised by locals in the glorious semi-Georgian surroundings of Pond Square in Highgate N6 from 10am until dusk. I shall have with me items fit for the high ceilings and historical splendour of surrounding drawing rooms alongside the usual mix of the curious and the urbane or junk as it was once known. Should you be passing please stop by, there are watering holes close at hand and parking also. I look forward to your good company.
