August was a break month where it was mostly catching up with some of my lovelies and just hobby/media maxxing 🙂‍↕️
Got to journal more and finding that putting pen to paper is the best way to process my thoughts and now I am more comfortable with writing longer paragraphs without feeling the need to be perfect or to write for an audience✌️

Got to visit more new cafes and try out some new food and drinks and got to redo the ACNH aquarium experience🐟 last time we missed Isabelle but we were first in line this time for the 2pm session✨

August ending with a 3 dates with my lovely @selenenen 💖 I don’t really celebrate my birthday much but to have a small outing where I was gifted a custom plushy of hamjee and a lovingly sewn hamjee and dubu passport journal cover 🥺🫶💖 and to have chiikawa bday cake baked by @jess_shim_ made it one of the best birthdays💖

It will be a bit of a grind time in September before I go on another small break! Working diligently with Hamjee and Dubu for upcoming November markets 💖💖💖

⭑.ᐟ starting my week with onigiri, jasmine matcha and my dear chingu @redbeeeeans 🍙🍵🐹

we finally had a journal date where we actually journaled instead of purely yapping 😼🤓☝️ i spent the initial chunk of time trying to make progress catching up with my 5 year hobo backlog 🥲🫶✍️ im still stuck in june with stray entries from april also missing 🪿

how has time flown by … months are passing me by 😭

journal date with artist friends always inspires me to doodle more :’D

except it makes me realise i am so incredibly impatient when it comes to doodling … i always feel so rushed to produce results for some reason; yearnings for perfection while letting go of the shackles of perfectionism by putting straight pen to paper no draft 🐴😋 fast tracking the trust the process and hoping for the best, i was done in like 20mins and looked over and realise the intricacy of her line work + detail … and why her work took the hour and a bit 🥹 made me reflect and also figure what more i could doodle …how i can improve… and maybe it’s ok to slow down… take my time with getting all the shapes, lines and shadows better

unrelated side tangent, after the news of frozen 3, i’ve had the entire frozen 2 soundtrack come back into my life and been replaying in my head these past days ❄️ such a good soundtrack !!!!!! all is found is the main song stuck in my head 🥹

anyways !!!! i hope you’re doing well my friends yippee, im getting back into my own life and journaling more, that’s been nice :’D i also just finished my first basketball season after 7 years of not playing and that’s been a really nice experience, to go back to a sport i loved but stepped away from because it ate away at my mental health at the time, and revisiting it from a place of love & having fun :”)

Rating Sydney’s Brunch Spots So You Don’t Have To🤭

Come hungry!🤤 The portions are huge and reasonably priced. Our favourites were the Chicken Nanban and the mentaiko onigiri. Don’t skip the sorbet, it cleanses your palate perfectly after the meal. Will be back soon!❣️

The chilli scrambled eggs with peanut butter were so good and unlike anything we’ve had before.⭐️ Crispy hash brown, good Crêpes Suzette, and although it’s a bit pricey, I’d happily come back.

Everything was a hit!🤯 The matcha butter banana toast is perfect, wasn’t too sweet, the banana cold foam was packed with flavour, and the steak & cacio e pepe udon was so good.💚

Great variety on the menu and generous portions. Everything was enjoyable, but it wasn’t a standout for us.

This visit was a little underwhelming for us. My first visit was amazing, but the second didn’t quite live up to it. The pancakes were a bit dry, though the blueberry jam and cream helped. Everything else was just okay.

The pastries were good, but choosing the right one depends on your taste. They were enjoyable, just not a wow moment for us.

i’ve missed my little solo dates !! ( ◡̀_◡́)ᕤ🍙🍵
⭑.ᐟ slow mornings, nice weather, good jasmine matcha & onigiri, a wonderful start to the day i say ദ്ദി˙∇˙)ว🌤️

this was perhaps the earliest i’ve been up, out and about, adventuring with no real agenda besides existing and having an intentionally slow day, actively not rushing myself to be anywhere and finally journaling T___T✍️ been trying to recharge my soul a bit … my life battery has been rather drained, especially my social battery but i have a couple small wins today that felt rewarding !!! 🌟 i spent a long time staring at the shop’s little ongiri label stickers at the counter … and braved it to ask if i could get a sticker for the journal, and she gave me one of their shop stickers instead which was super cute 🥹💗

i’ve kept in the mental tabs the idea of drawing your food/drinks on your receipt to log what you got for ages, and just went for it (after great hesitation and fighting perfectionism), and i think she turned out ok ! kinda cute, i’ll take my wins considering i started doodling with pen and hoped for the best 🪿

happy i finally stopped by @domothreenine 🍙🍵 and got to enjoy their ongiris & matcha, the oat jasmine matcha was such a pleasant surprise, it was so good 🥹🥹🥹 (jasmine matcha tends to be a hit or miss for my preferred balance and i loved it !!!!) and i loved my quiet time at domo39 :—)

hoping i can will myself out of bed earlier for more mindless adventuring instead of mindless scrolling more often 🦆🪿🌱
