Good Neighbour is excited to be part of BAZAR Art Books, which opened today at the Iranian Artists’ Forum in Tehran!

Running until 23 October, the fourth edition brings together 77 independent publishers and artists from 17 cities across Iran and beyond, celebrating a diverse range of independent and collective publishing practices.

Come say hello to our colleague Arefeh Riahi, who is representing Good Neighbour at the fair with To See the Inability to See and her own projects.

Join her tomorrow for the launch of her new book Be My Ghost, published by ‘Good Neighbour’, as well as ‘My Garden’s Boundaries’, a project by To See the Inability to See, that we would like to publish in the near future.

Hope our books find their way to new readers!

Better late than never: we wanted to say a huge thank you to our very special Good Neighbours at the fair, who helped us so much with our participation, and to all the Good Neighbour artists who continue to support this commitment to making art with words and thinking of books as performative tools.

If life allows it, our next presentation will be at Bazar Art Book Fair in Tehran, presented by Arefeh Riahi. More information soon.

A special shout-out to @alliedproductionssnyc , @calipsopress , @goldrainbooks , @thickpress , @miriam.gallery @issuepress @seatonstreetpress , @yuchenyuchen , @naranjapublicaciones , @cerropress , @pcgalleries and so many more publishers.

Thank you for the conversations, the books, the encounters, the sandplay, the help, the food (samosa!), and even more valuable these days, the friendship.

neighbours → booth → books → performative tools → conversations → happenings → souvenirs → every instant we are alive is a miracle → outside the fair → garden → cake

For the @singaporeartbookfair , Manifold Books and Good Neighbour are launching our newest publication, 𝘽𝙚 𝙈𝙮 𝙂𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩 by Arefeh Riahi.

🔲

This Saturday, Maartje Fliervoet of @manifoldbooks will be a speaker on radio radio radio, a live radio programme presented as part of Singapore Art Book Fair 2026. She will introduce the publication and discuss the process behind making it.

𝘽𝙚 𝙈𝙮 𝙂𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩 is a project by Arefeh Riahi, conceived as a tripartite sound piece in English, presented at Manifold Books in Amsterdam between March and July 2026. The publication collects the transcript of these three letters, originally written in Farsi by the artist, in which she takes Manifold Books’ founder, Maartje Fliervoet, on a fictive walk. Initially, she intended this journey to be a phantom ride through Tehran, her hometown. However, the writings unfolded differently, casting light on the struggle of sharing across cultural boundaries. The work explores the relation between the migrant and the so-called host, complicated by the factor of time. 𝘽𝙚 𝙈𝙮 𝙂𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩 includes English and Farsi translations and is accompanied by a visual contribution by @maartje_fliervoet titled From Us to us.
The book was designed by @dongyoungleee and printed and bound by @nokiss___ in Amsterdam, August 2026.

Good Neighbour Books and Manifold Books are happy to be partnering up once again and participating in the @singaporeartbookfair this year.

We will be presenting our most recent collaborations, publications, and books with artistic interventions from 28 to 30 August, every day from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This year, the fair takes place at T:>Works, 72-13 Mohamed Sultan Road, Singapore.

For this year’s fair catalogue, we were invited to create a design using page 37 of Goldilocks. This will be available during the fair, together with the other pages designed by the participating publishers. We decided to pair the page 37 template with a foldable reading list designed by Jomel Yong for The Sphinx’s Riddle, Manifold Books’ year-long programme of exhibitions and reading events around grief and transformation.

For this post, we wanted to extend that gesture by sharing the same backdrop to present to you a selection of collaborations between Good Neighbour Books and Manifold Books from the last few years.

1. Reading List Foldable, 2025. Marking the end of The Sphinx’s Riddle, a year-long exhibition and reading-events programme around grief and transformation at Manifold Books. Design and concept by Jomel Yong.

2. Be My Ghost, Arefeh Riahi, 2026. Design by Dongyoung Lee.

3. The Minga of the Birds of the Dawn, Daniel Godínez Nivón, 2023. Text by Andrés González. Design by Dongyoung Lee.

4. The Mountain, The Mountain, Moosje Moti Goosen, 2025. Design by Dongyoung Lee.

5. Correspondances, Maartje Fliervoet, 2021. Design by Our Polite Society.

6. Portrait of a Good Neighbour’s Library, various authors, 2025, including Maartje Fliervoet. Design by Dongyoung Lee.

This presentation is made possible with the support of the @mondriaanfonds The collaborative publications have also been made with support of the @afk020

Last Friday, our member @dongyoungleee was the interpreter for @jeongkwansnim visit to the @janvaneyckacademie in Maastricht.

At Good Neighbour, we are very interested in translation, and it is special to see how it can become part of our practices as designers, bookmakers, and artists.

We are sharing some pictures to express our gratitude to Jeong Kwan Snim and the Jan van Eyck Academie for such a rich day of learning about food and sustainability, and for the opportunity to experience perspectives in which food becomes both an art form and a way of living in balance with other beings and the place where we inhabit.

Also included are some photos of the @jve.foodlab and material lab
