For years I struggled with glute activation, tight hips and persistent big toe issues.

No matter how much I stretched or strengthened, something still felt off.

What I’ve come to appreciate is that the body works as one connected system. Your big toe, feet, hips and glutes don’t work in isolation. If one area isn’t contributing well, another often has to compensate.

For me, improving the connection between my big toe and glutes has made one of the biggest differences to how I move. My hips feel freer, my glutes switch on far more easily, and even my long-standing big toe issues have improved.

Before I train, I now spend a few minutes reconnecting with the ground by keeping my big toe planted throughout these movements. It’s become a huge part of my warm-up.

If you spend most of your day sitting, don’t expect your glutes to instantly do their job when you start exercising. Sometimes they just need reminding.

These movements have helped me build that connection from the ground up. Maybe they’ll help you too!

I eliminate pain through balanced training by…

Training BOTH sides of every joint.🦵🏼

Playing sports becomes simpler and safer when training this way, leading to superior athleticism and much less pain. 🏀

If I only trained: 🏋️‍♂️

-chest press, I’d probably hurt my upper back
-pull-ups, I’d probably tear a pectoral (chest)
-squats, I’d have tight hip flexors and possibly strain it
-garhammer raises, I may hurt the back of my hip

…ONLY doing common daily activities!

For every movement, there is an EQUAL & OPPOSITE movement.

All of them are necessary to maintain balance.

Most people don’t have time to train them all, therefore we should prioritize movements in rotation so that we aren’t overwhelmed or undertrained in certain areas.

Follow for more tips on how to return pain-free to the sport you love! ⚽️🏈🏀🏐
