The time has come to share the poster of our upcoming film: AS ABOVE SO BELOW. This short film adaptation of a feature screenplay written with my co-conspirator Aymeric Laloux clearly took a life of its own during development and became much more than an apologetic taste of the big thing. Shot between December and January in Los Angeles, this film marks my second collaboration with Lauren Alexandra Lewis who, in addition to her contribution on screen, officiated as a creative partner allowing me to shatter the boundaries of my punk filming approach. Filmmaking is a process, usually exhausting and not so different from the trek of our main protagonist Verne, but it’s solely through that relentless process that you can find what you’re looking for. As life itself got exceedingly complicated this past year, this artistic endeavor gave us a reason to get up in the morning and stay up late at night, and fuel our hearts with gazoline like you would a shoe on a beach. Whatever prompted us to make that journey didn’t come from a breathless whisper… Peace, Z.
