When we first met Maleah Joi Moon, we knew she was made of 100% GOLD! Her team chose the perfect design crew to sprinkle magic dust on her dressing room. Just a month after its unveiling, she snagged a Tony Award! We couldn’t be prouder to be her dressing room designers. ✨🏆

Delighted to be participating in this year’s Authors for Voices of Color Auction! All proceeds go toward the work @weneeddiversebooks does to champion diversity in literature.

Bid on #TheOtherBlackGirl care package and you might just win:

🔹A signed hardcover copy of TOBG;
🔹 A copy of Nella Larsen's Passing;
🔹 A reed diffuser (good for fending off nasty odors and even nastier vibes);
🔹 Stationery + a set of my favorite purple pens;
🔹A package of cozy tea; andddd…
🔹 An (almost) replica of the Zora Neale Hurston mug that Nella used in @theotherblackgirlhulu (made by @dontsleepint!)

And there are LOADS of other great prizes from so many other amazing authors, including @andibartz, @jmkarmstrong, @jenniferweinerwrites, @saumyajdave, @jacqueline_woodson, @aeosworth & so many more.

Link in bio; auction ends 10/3!

As promised, some still images of the loft! This room was one of the main reasons I decided to purchase Hattie (my one). I mean, it’s the ultimate guest suite, full equipped with a kitchen, bathroom and plenty of closet space.
——
So it was a no brainer to partner with The Home Depot on this one! What’s better is not only was I able to work with them on getting some of the main areas of this room done, but I was also able to use some of their decor items to button it all up.
I wanted to make sure that I kept the loft feel in the majority of the area, so making sure to go with open pipe shelving, natural woods and moody colors was my main goal.
As mentioned in my stories, when not in use for guests, this space will double as a movie room. Making sure to get lighting that would support this feel was very important. The brass sconces over the console immediately draw your attention to the exact area where the projector will be.
——
One thing I truly enjoyed adding to the kitchen area was the pipe shelving unit that now houses dishes and decor. In the past, I would create this from scratch, and believe me when I tell you it’s a pain. Once I saw that @homedepot had pipe shelving units pretty much assembled for you, I grabbed two. I love them so much, I plan on going back to add the smaller units above the countertop.
——
The one thing I was pleasantly surprised about, was the extensive selection of black decor, something I was a little worried about. Once I saw there was no lack of items in my favorite color, I grabbed not only some amazing dinnerware… but also some beautiful black and canewebb pieces that match my bar cart .
I’m so excited to finally see this space come to life, and you all know me, I’ll be adding and changing things here constantly…. So stay tuned!
