"Heya - I'm Vontesse - A UK-based 2D animator & motion designer, character designer, pixel artist, pun enthusiast, and world record holder for the most amount of open computer tabs (probably).

I grew up surrounded by the world of cartoons and plugged into video games - they say that watching too much tv turns your eyes square, but for me they turned into pixels! If you're after the weird, the wonderful and the wacky then welcome to my 2D dimension of playful animated stories that will make you feel as though you've been transported back to the early 2000's!"

We’re in the final push for @ofallthethingsfilm with our first screening set for 15th May for @HoardingAwarenessWeek! It’s been a huge team effort and emotions are high as we bring it over the finish line. A massive shout out to our amazing animation team – @jacamotion, @such_a_wally, @donutdespair and @imogens_cool_pics – who have given their incredible talent into bringing this film to life.

Last month, we had a little moment at @phoenixleic with a behind-the-scenes test screening 📽️ just for us, to see the visuals on the big screen. The colours are looking beautiful and the score by @sarahmplayford & sound design from @heidi_wilson6 was sounding amazing.

And in the final hour, our amazing producer @bella_t_producer secured one final sponsor hitting our crowdfunding goal of £25k! Huge thanks to everyone who backed us and has supported the project so far. ❤️ We’re grateful for each and every one of you for helping us get this film finished!

We’ve been quiet here because we’ve been deep in production but keep an eye out for some last behind-the-scenes bits over the next few weeks. 🙂

This is probably one of the most personal post I will ever write. I do it in celebration of #blackhistorymonth
Here in the UK.

Growing up mixed race in a white family, white school and white society in the 80s was not easy!! There was no one who looked like me, no one I could identity with and no one I could talk to who could completely and wholly understand my plight.

I didn't know how to "Be" black or white ...... I didn't know how to "BE" me. I felt like an alien, lost and alone. When we don't see people "like us" we really feel othered and as such can lead to identity crisis.

I reconnected with my absent father during my late twenties and it was only then that I was able to formulate the words which make this poem. It took until my late twenties to finally accept who I am and to stand PROUD with this acceptance💜

When we take race, neurodivergence, mental health and trauma the concotion is a lethal mix of "not being good enough!" It can be soul destroying at times. Therapy and poetry were the paths I took to help me value all parts of myself.

@donut_despair created this beautifully animated version of my poem which ive used to help young mixed race people to get comfortable with who they are. Enabling them to see their greatness and know they are of value in this world.
