So much happened for me this year! Making and showing work a lot, teaching a lot, traveling a lot - so many special opportunities. But a big theme of the year was also just trying to enjoy my life and my time with friends. Happy New Year and cheers to more adventures! ✨🖤✨

Thank you to everyone who came to the studio this weekend to celebrate our wonderful community and the glass artists who inspire us!
On Friday night, Jason McDonald @jasonmcdonald42 shared his unique perspectives on glass art and wowed the audience with an amazing goblet demonstration, assisted by BAGI's own Tony Hughes @tbirdtony , at his Visiting Artist Community Night. Check out these pictures from the event, and scroll to the end to see Jason's incredible piece from the demo!

(Part 1/2) After a day full of activities, Better Together coalesced into a group demo, which ended up featuring the combined efforts of over a dozen different artists, plus a number of @pghglasscenter staff.

Happy Juneteenth! Don't forget to keep an eye on @crafting_the_future for more work and opportunities centering Black, Brown, and other BIPOC artists and craftspeople ✌🏽

Thx to everyone who made my trip to the Bay pitch perfect—especially to @christinewongyap and @lanefujita for seeding the connective tissue for this particular trip. On the work spectrum, I gave a talk to the design team at Apple, made a pilgrimage to the Golden Spike for future project ideation, got a sneak peek at @christinewongyap’s contribution to Spirit House (thanks to @aleesapalexander), and completed my second interview with Ruth Tamura. On the life spectrum, we did a pretty good job of making the rounds; cup feeling gorgeously full.

X-Section @bayareaglassinstitute !!! Thx to this crew for anchoring my trip to CA and making for such a chill and fun class!!!

Fave outcomes: introducing @lounge.sin to the hot stuff, getting 17-year-old Caetano to use the full potential of his 6’+ wingspan, getting @dessertsbyjeanette to increase the volume of her cups by two-fold with the same mass of glass, watching @notoriousbraj attack cutting up cane tubes like a maniac, and watching @ford_thoughts hot sculpt cause I can’t do that to save my life.

Thx to the Bay Area glass scene from Santa Cruz to Oakland for coming out and joining me on the floor for Community Night! It was such a treat to celebrate this magic with you all: @windblownglass @notoriousbraj @dessertsbyjeanette @najahalboushi @kintod @ford_thoughts @minamioya @erinphoffman @mycuteval @santacruzglasspics @mozeart

Head to @dopplerfto for all the pro photos from the evening!

(And special thanks to @bayareaglassinstitute for trusting me on this format for Community Night.)

Last, thx to the very best support squad in the audience AKA biggest crew of baddies in town!!! @lanefujita @christinewongyap @aleesapalexander @albert_harold_lewis @beatriceglow
