I’m dedicating this piece to Curtis Craig, a homeless man that I met in Los Angeles that changed my life by sharing his story.... and now I will share that story with you.
A man sits in a wheel chair and begs the world to acknowledge him. “Do you have any change?” *Curtis* “Can someone tell me what bus that is?” *Curtis

Part of the world hears him, yet walks away... I heard him and I stood frozen in time. I stood there motionless, questioning if I should hand him a dollar or walk away as if I heard nothing. “Do you have any change?” “What bus is that?!” *Curtis*

I turned back to him and ask him for his name, I knew deep down I couldn’t walk away this time, I needed to know his story. I walked to him... and words began to pour out... nervous at first “I don’t mean to be rude or come off entitled or an ass, but what is your name and how did you get here?” *Me* “My name is Curtis Craig and I’ve been on these streets for 7 years, I’m basically blind which I why I’m asking about the bus, I have an appointment with the eye doctor to fix my vision and a I have to get on the right bus, because a charity was able to pay for my doctor and then I’ll be able to have my eye surgery”

7 years of his reality shattered my view of the world forever. We are just Zombies pretending everything is okay when there are real walking dead begging for the worlds to see them more than homeless individual or bum or even addict.... we as a society should stand up for those who are helpless. We are all human and kindness doesn’t cost a thing. I shook Curtis, gave home what I had in my pocket and left with a mans story to share to the rest of the world. ...... Thank you @anything.precious and Ibrahim for putting this together!

What started off as a walk to collect sea shells for @ubgreenclub Recycling Bins turned into picking up trash that club members couldn’t just leave there. #ubgreenubgreat #ubthechange #savethesound 📸: @hernameisking
