Still on the fence about Friday night? How about $5 off your ticket with the code JOANFAN. Kick off the Halloween season with DJ Dank and Valentine as they host a Joan Crawford Hag-stravaganza with a special screening of William Castle’s 1964 cult classic Strait-Jacket on Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at the Great Star Theater. Featuring live drag performances by Katya Smirnoff-Skyy, Thee Pristine Condition and Lucy Borden, a “Joan to the Bone” video tribute by David Hawkins, Joan trivia, and a Crawford costume contest. A. Ashley Hoff, author of "With Love, Mommie Dearest," will be talking about Joan's Hag Cycle and selling and signing his book in the lobby. The evening is a celebration of one of Hollywood’s most enduring stars—and one of the most gloriously unhinged horror films of her career. Tickets are $25 and are available at greatstartheater.org. JOAN CRAWFORD IN “STRAIT-JACKET,” A HAG-STRAVAGANZA AT THE GREAT STAR THEATER Kick off the Halloween season with DJ Dank and Valentine as they host a Joan Crawford Hag-stravaganza with a special screening of William Castle’s 1964 cult classic Strait-Jacket on Friday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at the Great Star Theater. Crawford stars as Lucy Harbin, a woman released from a psychiatric hospital 20 years after committing a notorious double murder. After moving in with her family, heads start to toll. Who could the killer be? Strait-Jacket combines psychological horror, murder mystery, and Crawford-sized melodrama into one of the great camp classics of the 1960s. The film also stars Diane Baker, George Kennedy, and Leif Erickson. Today is #IndieBookstoreDay so it's a perfect time to buy my pal @doubleahoff A. Ashley Hoff's book, "With Love, Mommie Dearest: The Making of an Unintentional Camp Classic" (forward by @brucevilanch). It's a terrific, insightful, extremely well-reseached and entertaining read that never loses the fact that the initial book "Mommie Dearest" delved into the then-taboo subject of child abuse. The movie (which was truly expected to be an Oscar frontrunner) got unhinged in many ways along the way and this book is a fascinating look into how these things can happen. So get a copy today from your local bookstore in person or online (or even Amazon if you have to)...just in time for May 10: Mother's Day! #WithLoveMommieDearest #MommieDearest

Bring me the ax!" o "I should have known you'd know where to find the boys and the booze!" o "Barbara please! Please Barbara!". Veneración total. #MommieDearest #JoanCrawford #Book #WithLoveMommieDearest #AAshleyHoff
