✨ CENTRAL COAST COMMUNITY DAY ✨

November is a season of gratitude, family, and giving back. As we head toward Thanksgiving, I’m excited to come home to Santa Maria and pour into the Central Coast dance community that helped shape me. ❤️

Join me for Community Day on November 1 at Klein Dance Arts! I’ll be offering two one-hour classes beginning at 2:30 PM:

✨ Technique & Mobility Class (2:30 PM)

We’ll work on mobility, balance, coordination, control, weight transfer, and other skills that support stronger dance technique.

✨ Contemporary Dance Class (3:30 PM)

We’ll bring those skills into movement through contemporary choreography, musicality, expression, and performance.

• $15 drop-in for one class
• $25 for both classes

While I’m home from October 28 through November 1, I’ll also be offering a limited number of individualized movement assessments for dancers throughout Santa Maria and the Central Coast.

During your assessment, we’ll explore your mobility, strength, balance, coordination, movement quality, and personal training needs.

If you complete an assessment and join my online coaching program, you’ll receive my special hometown discounted rate and specialty pricing for future workshops in the Santa Maria and Central Coast area.

✨ The first five dancers to register will also receive a free set of performance coaching tools and worksheets designed to help you feel more prepared, focused, and confident heading into competition season!

This Community Day is my way of kicking off November with gratitude, movement, and connection to home. ❤️

The program begins with a 45-minute in-person assessment with Dr. Dylan, followed by personalized online programming and ongoing support designed to help each student continue progressing in their training.

✨ Online support includes:
• Weekly check-ins
• Weekly technique feedback
• Direct messaging support with Dr. Dylan for questions, guidance, and accountability
• One 45-minute private Zoom check-in each month for technique and progress

🤗 While enrolled in the program, students will also receive:
• A locked-in in-person private session rate whenever Dr. Dylan is in town
• Discounted master classes
• Discounted private sessions

💫 Pricing for our students:
• $50 — Initial 45-minute in-person assessment

Yeoooooo where do I start 🥺😭🏆

As I get closer to my 1 year anniversary of dancing 'Ori Tahiti this month I’m still taking in everything from these past few weeks prepping for Heiva… AND TAKING HOME FIRST FREAKING PLACE!! 🥇🔥

I grew up dancing Polynesian, but the focus was always Samoan, Tongan, Māori, and Hawaiian. Looking back at my life over the past few years, Heavenly Father truly moves in mysterious ways. Every door closed and every detour was rooted in purpose to bringing me to right where I am today.

Polynesian Dancing will always be my passion, but 'Ori Tahiti has definitely been the most challenging style I’ve ever learned. The stamina, the choreo, the beats, the solos..been kicking my ess since day one! 😅

Leading up to Heiva was wild ☀️ Endless hours in the sun, Sewing costumes while dripping sweat all over your costumes (you’re welcome lol) 🏃‍♂️ Running back and forth between costume prep and practice 😴 Catching quick naps anywhere possible

And I wouldn’t change a single second of it.

To feel the mana on that stage was a sacred reminder of gratitude for our ancestors who passed down these stories and traditions to teach, heal, and remind us of who we are.

To our incredible Ra’atira, @mevina_official and @napua_murphy_liufau learning from you both, listening to your vision, and witnessing your passion poured into every beat has been one of my greatest blessings. Thank you for allowing me to be part of history in sharing the story of Patiti and Pi’ihoro. Love you both forever!

A huge thank you to Aunty KK @kehau415 and Unk Maat @matoswestcoast for your tireless dedication to the group. To @s2s2hwe Sonny Sr., the owner of the sweatshop lol witnessing your creative mind and learning from you was incredible. Safe travels back! And yes, I have candy for the baby to take home 🍬😂

words can’t describe these tears of joy and gratitude and connection— this mana. friends (now family) from tokyo, osaka, new york, hawai’i nei, and all across california to bring this heart work into reality. from our first mele manaka (merrie monarch) to our first heiva i san diego, mahalo piha to @briannmendoza and @brentmendoza for being there since day 1. and from 90 degree days to long nights in the dark, this was an outpouring of love for ‘ori tahiti, @mevina_official, @napua_murphy_liufau , and @tavake_rereata .

i felt it and it made me want to not only be a better dancer, but the best steward for my ancestors. i am because they are. because we honor them by knowing, by talking, by celebrating our ancestral practices, artistry, and joy. “for how can one summon an ancestral tāura, if they don’t even know their name?” -Napua

My love didn’t make it to the finals, but she made it to the semifinals at her very first Heiva San Diego competition! 🥹🌺

I couldn’t be more proud of her. She danced her heart out, gained so much experience, and gave it her all. This is only the beginning, my beautiful girl. Keep shining Mommy is so proud of you! 💕
