“Terrifying Angels”, is one of the two album tracks I did with @gregjong This song came out of a jam in Greg’s Portland basement, along with the incredibly talented @dr_p_hogues & @augustine.dmg 🖤 The hard drive with the basement jam gathered dust for a year or so, before Greg & I revisited it, writing the remaining sections. It came together really quickly, was a lot of fun to write/produce & we hope you enjoy the journey 🧙‍♂️ What do you particularly like about the track? #progressiverock #altprogrock #progrock #artrock #grunge

Happy news! My documentary, The Flip Side, which went on the film festival circuit in that lost, misty time before COVID, is finally available to watch on the link up top. I found the perfect home for it in "Circus: Arts, Life, and Sciences," an open access journal of circus studies. The documentary is an artistic coming-of-age story about a Chinese circus artist, Daqi, who went from a childhood in a regimented circus boarding school to the heights of the global circus world. However, it's less a profile about him than a portrait of the transformative friendship and working relationship he has with the director of the 7 Fingers circus troupe, Shana Carroll. As I wrote in the Director's statement, "One of the most remarkable aspects of the inherently itinerant nature of circus is that people from disparate cultures meet, challenge each other, learn from each other, sometimes fall in love, and then radically reshape the circus world’s landscape. This documentary celebrates the highest expression of that ethos—approaching the other with a spirit of openness, respect, humility, curiosity and play." I'd be delighted if you watched it and spread word of it, especially to those who might want to use it for teaching. My Director's Statement has a teaching guide at the end. At 25 minutes, it's a great length to show in class. Also, did I mention that there is *a lot* of flipping in it?

One of the things I love to do at @marmosetmusic is showcase the artists and their new music that comes in every month. We are all excited for the music that we scouted, signed, curated and co-created. Song: Let’s Do This by @city_wolf_official & @kittygun.music

“Wow, it’s PLOW!” My best friends & I had a band in high school. PLOW Thirty years ago this month, we released our DIY album “ouch!” The whole process was awesome. We had a recording major still in university record us on a 4-track in a basketball gym (reverb). The live versions on the album were taken from a VHS tape from a party we played. I created the cover art using an image from an old medical book I found and typed the tracklist and notes on a typewriter. I also used my dad’s computer at his office to get the font for the band name. What a wonderful experience!🤘🏽 Paul is making much better music these days @dr_p_hogues Josh & Cain don’t mess with social media but are still occasionally making noise.
