Rooms of Neighbours in Arcane 5
Curated by Ben Broome

Rooms of Neighbours is an exhibition installed across 12 households on Clifton Crescent, Peckham. Each participating household was paired with an artist, who collaborated with residents to install a work either in their home or in communal space. Artists were chosen according to an existing sensitivity to domestic and social relationships across their practice, and each responded to the distinct dynamics of the household in question — environments far removed from a conventional art-world exhibition context.

Arcane Issue 5 is now sold out on our website. Copies are still available through Antenne Books.

The French Ordinary Court might not be the most likely spot in London for a Friday evening tubar performance, but it become it the stage for the latest performance in @drabl’s series. Raheel Khan (@raheelkhan____), supported by @nicolettafioruccifoundation, responded to the site’s cavernous acoustics with a new iteration of a work for three tubas.

Curator Ben Broome (aka @drabl) described the site “taking its unusual name from its 18th century use as an ordinary: a historical term for a place of eating serving simple meals for a fixed price. Ordinaries were common in London in the 1700s. The one that stood on this site was established by French Huguenots to cater to their fellow immigrants.”

We sent @kit_rounthwaite down to snap some pics and see what was going on. Were you papped?
