"to protect the children-they say" is up on substack. It seems everyday we wake to more hate, war, and screams on screens.

Not supporting the regime in Iran that is murdering its own citizens, but the people who are fighting there everyday attempt to stop it and gain freedom.

I don't understand the claim of premptive strikes. I don't understand the layers of hate because there is no logic. It's just pure hate and a draw for power and control.

The image attached was drawn from the flour massacre in gaza in 2024. It's been more than two years since then and we are still seeing administrations and regimes claim they're bombing folks for reasons they deem worth destroying civilizations, murdering children and families, and destabilizing nations.

Fucking insanity.

It was amazing to get to witness and be a part of the moment that @studiobythetracks recent resident artist @hugh.patton cultivated throughout the period of his residency inspired by parallel play, collaboration, and process.

I took more photos but participating in the collaborative and interactive moments that artists curate is magic. I had goosebumps and was so inspired by the time dedicated to the many hands who shared space processing and overlapping lines together.

"a thank you note to little me" is up on substack! There's a snippet in the second image and more at the link in my bio or go directly to the post at the one below.

I've been going through old notes and documents and realizing that I have far more poetry written than I thought I did.. so I guess you get to benefit, engage, and empathize with the drafted thoughts from my mind from different times in my life.

Day 33 of drawing daily: Resting Remi
(And some bonus art of Remzilla over the years- 2024,2023,2018)

There's a time for rest, rage, and rejoicing everyday. Actively make time and space for them all. Everyday when you need to. Remember that it's hard to be a light shining in the dark if your battery is depleted.

In times of restlessness and uncertainty, it's important to take a moment and regulate when and how you can. Rest may not always feel productive, but is necessary to ensure that you can keep on keeping on.

I think I'm probably only going to mostly be uploading photos and selectively be posting some of the daily drawing videos, because the videos take significantly most time with having to edit them overlay and do all of that takes far more out of me than just posting a photo... Part of the project was to allow me to get more into the flow, and I've been stewing on some ideas in the meantime...🤩

day 32 of drawing daily:
parallels with history

Some of the tactile recycled fabric textile explorative pieces and processes that I'm in researching and feeling through.

I have a handful of ideas for some individual and community-based projects that I'm working the kinks out of, but I absolutely will be poking and stabbing a lot of fabric this year through eclectic stitching as it helps me channel a lot of my emotional and mental direction..

day 31 of drawing daily:
bandaged wounds

like my wounded thumb that I sliced with the paper cutter (I'm okay, just 2mm of skin or so), our democracy has been wrapped and held together with bandages....without actually understanding, acknowledging, and addressing all of this country's wounds and then we bandaid them until an infection builds where the wounds occured and fester until it isn't healable without care.
