It’s hard to believe that this is my final semester at UAB as well as an undergraduate student. The past eight years have been the most challenging as well as the most fulfilling in my existence. Hopefully I will continue my journey into grad school, but now all have to do is breathe and enjoy the fact that I’ve come so far from the person who started Freshman year. For those who were there at the beginning to those who were there at the end (y’all know who you are), thanks. I’m glad you exist. 🤍

2023 Events..READ BELOW ⬇️ I did 36 pop ups/markets/festivals in total this year. When I first decided to start doing these events, I made it a goal to do at least one each month. I never would’ve thought it would have gotten to the scale it did (in this first year). When I first started applying I had less than $500 to my name.. and some debt. After vendor fees and display costs that number quickly got scarier. I was in survival mode without a car and the only thing I could do was take the risk and to believe in myself and in my art. I kept showing up and I kept trying despite minimal results at times. Lots of efforts, experiments & experiences later I am ending the year no longer in survival mode and with more than I started with (with the fact I started paying back student loans too). It has not been easy and I am by no means well off. There is still SO much room for improvement and growth, but now I have my confidence and excitement back that had been buried in constant stress. I knew that survival mode would eat away at my creativity so my hopes for these events was to also keep me connected to my art and to my goals while still creating when I could. And it worked. And people liked my art. And I met so many incredible people and vendors in the community. And now I am in my first Group Exhibition to top it off! With that said, it definitely was not a solo effort. I had so many people that helped me pull this off I can not even count or thank them enough. From borrowing cars, tents, & furniture, strangers grabbing me water/food, vendors watching my booth while I ran to use the restroom, supportive booth buddies consisting of family and friends that would just sit with me or get me something I needed or mitigating my anxiety..and Austin for doing all the above and more. Everyone knows I’m a sap but I believe in appreciating what you have and those that truly show up for you when you need it. Not everyone has that and It’s something I value in people. It has been a wild year but I am so excited for 2024 and to come back strong with more inventory and even bigger goals! With my whole heart, THANK YOU! 💜 #2023
