Here’s a little glimpse into something that was so much bigger than a beautiful room. 🤎

The Welcome Home Experience was never just about bringing women together. It was about creating a space where we could put down the weight of always having to be strong, take off the masks, and simply BE.

We laughed. We reflected. We had some honest conversations. And somewhere between the hugs, the tears, and the breakthroughs, something beautiful happened.

We gave ourselves permission to come home to who we really are.

These are just a few moments from a day I won’t soon forget. The full recap is coming, but I couldn’t wait to share a little of what we experienced.

And listen mama, Becoming doesn’t end when the event is over.

That’s why @the_cocoon_community exists. Because the journey back to yourself deserves more than a moment. It deserves a community.

On my birthday, @coachkamshuka ask the women around me to describe me in one word.

I expected a few sweet words.

What I received was something much deeper.

Beautiful.
Inspirational.
Confident.
Radiant.
Pure and real.
Leader.
Resilient.
Ease.
Intentional.
Committed.
Accepting.
Perseverance.
Kind.
Sunshine.
Kismet.
Effortless.
Graceful
Poise
Charm
Gorgeous.

I sat with these words.

Because sometimes, we spend so much time becoming that we forget to stop and notice who we have become.

And maybe that is one of the greatest gifts of being seen by people who know you.

They reminded me that the things I’ve had to fight through did not make me hard.

The waiting did not take away my joy.

The disappointments did not steal my softness.

I am still becoming.

But I am also becoming evidence of what perseverance, faith, intention, and choosing yourself can produce.

So at 45, I’m not just celebrating another year.

I’m celebrating the woman I’ve become.

And the woman I’m still becoming.

Sometimes you need someone else to hold up the mirror so you can finally see what has been there all along. 🤍

Before we wrap up Women’s History Month, allow me to share that on International Women’s Day, I was honored by the Jamaican Canadian Association with the “Women Who Inspire Change” award.
I used my acceptance speech not to talk about my accolades or my work, but to recognize another amazing woman who helped me along my journey before this work was even a dream. I then challenged everyone in the room to do the very same thing.

Much love and respect to @danamelpowell as well as the @jcaontario women’s committee and the Government of Ontario @ongov @andreahazelll for the recognition.

To be quieter. Smaller. Easier to accept.

Today, many women are visible — but not fully seen.
Seen for what they do.
Not always for who they are.

Being fully seen means:
✨ Not editing your personality to fit the room.
✨ Not softening your voice to keep others comfortable.
✨ Not hiding your growth.

Through my lens, I’ve learned this: when a woman allows herself to be fully seen, everything shifts.

This month isn’t just about applause.
It’s about honoring women who show up whole.

You deserve to be seen — fully.
