As @uclahealth OBGYN Dr. Mya Zapata @myazap shared, it is about looking at the whole picture to find the right path forward. A regular ultrasound can be a helpful way to get an initial sense of what is happening, but the true beginning of relief often comes from talking through the experience and exploring what helps.

Endometriosis affects about 1 in 10 people, though many experts believe that number is actually much higher because it so often goes undiagnosed. @drdanielginn, a minimally invasive surgery specialist at @uclahealth, explains that while there is a hereditary pattern, normalizing this level of pain can sometimes keep people from seeking the care and relief they need for years.
