✨📖 BOOK REVIEW 📖✨

📕 Title: " Fractures in Love "
✍️ Author: " Drew Weatherhead "

⭐ Rating: ★★★★★ / 5

🖋️ My Review:Fractures in Love by Drew Weatherhead introduces a harsh fantasy world where freedom is controlled not only through slavery, but through supernatural domination. At the center is Hella, a twelve-year-old Thütan girl living under the Rāyin Empire in Epōle, where survival itself demands courage.

The most striking element of the premise is the asperite system, with blue gems built into the city floors allowing Rāyins to impose their will on Thütans. That detail turns oppression into something both political and deeply personal. Against that control, Hella’s emerging power creates a compelling tension between fear, responsibility, and the possibility of resistance.

The arrival of a mysterious Thütan in Cull-19 shifts the story toward dangerous hope, especially as Hella weighs freedom against the safety of her younger brother. That emotional conflict gives the fantasy stakes real weight.

Its blend of magic and oppression promises a tense, thoughtful journey. For readers who enjoy darker speculative fiction, rebellion narratives, and young protagonists facing impossible systems, Fractures in Love has an intriguing foundation. I recommend buying it and discovering how Hella’s fight for freedom unfolds.

A beautifully crafted read that deserves a place on your bookshelf. 🤍

The Spirit behind the Story

With the upcoming release of book two in the Fractures series, both sides of the same coin will at last be made apparent.

Because they are literally the same timeline, taken from opposing perspectives.

It is an effort in balance between an unstoppable force and an immovable object. And the effects they cause on all the people trapped in-between.

It's fire vs ice.
Feminine vs masculine.
Passion vs control.

Presenting the folly of choosing either, the spirits that animate people to do so, and the outcomes of a zero sum worldview in the end.

It's been 2 solid years of preparation to finally be able to present both sides of this coin. And, come the 17th, you'll finally be able to square the circle.

Because, as it turns out, morality and humanity belong to no one perspective.

BOOK 2

I've spent more than a year in preparation for this release.

Countless hours...
Late nights...
And months of story creation to build the perfect sequel.

Fractures in Peace is the natural sequel to Fractures in Love because it is LITERALLY the same story from the polar opposite perspective of the first!

The enemies of book one become the heroes of book two in what was the most difficult task I've ever had as a writer!

Besides the hurculean effort in continuity between both books, I gave myself the impossible task of taking the most HATED character from book one and setting him as the MAIN character in this one!

By the end, my hope is you not only understand him, but even cheer for him!

Personally, I'm incredibly proud of how it came out! I think I achieved my goal, and I am confident that it lives up to my own impossible standards.

Pre-order for the kindle version is available right now, and the paperback will release July 17th.

Thank you to everyone who's encouraged me along this journey!

Story writing is a punishing, and often loney endeavor. All the kind words and interest made this possible.

And if you haven't started the story yet, the full, production quality audiobook of Fractures in Love is on Spotify right now for free. I'd encourage you to give it a listen to prepare you for this release 🤙

If you're into audiobooks, throw this into your queue! I'll warn you beforehand, it gets intense by the end.

I did all the reading for it, voice acted all the characters and nearly lost my voice a few times along the way! Lol.

But I'm proud of what I've built and even MORE proud of its sequel that's releasing in July!

The story is MUCH bigger than you realize at any given point. Pay attention to the details, and don't believe everything you hear...
