Today could be a day you love or a day you despise - and you are justified in your reasoning for feeling how you do. Love is an interesting topic, everyone seems to have an opinion on it. Some believe there’s nothing better, others see it as a distraction, or maybe they associate it with pain that’s still very real and present. As I often say, there’s no perfect way to go about living we’re all just doing our best. I think maybe sometimes we get caught up in the feeling that we’re obligated to find love - or be in love - which I think is looking at it all backwards. Love isn’t an obligation, it’s not a distraction, because the sole meaning to love and be loved is finding a connection that lies at a depth most of life can’t compete with. You don’t have to like Valentine’s Day, or be in any rush to settle down, but if you do anything... keep your heart open to the unexplainable magic that is the butterflies that give you chills when you look at that someone. In my own process of figuring out why we’ve all landed on this rock, I’ve yet to come across a material/ a job/ a hobby that outweighs the power of love and so for that, I wish it upon you all. I’m headed out to celebrate how lucky we are that these chemicals exist - and I hope, whatever situation you’re in this year, you’re doing the same. It's been the most peaceful two days at @nathanjohnsonny & @lauraosnes lake house in CT, @lakesidelookout. The lake will always be one of my favorite places on earth. Feeling grateful... For beautiful friends, for simple experiences like these, for the beauty of nature, for good food and drink, for all of the things the lead to me being here... in this moment. I could get far sappier, but there are memories being made from leaning in to the presence of the real world im currently missing by trying to describe to you all online... Wishing you all lovely Saturday nights and encourage you to get with good people and soak all those precious moments up Xx

Just got the first batch of film back from last weekend in Montauk. Of course, the place is stunning, but it was only unforgettable because of these weekend warriors 🤘🏻

Last week @zoelaz and I did a quick 30 minute set on a beautiful late summer evening. It felt so good to be on the other side of the lens for a second - I miss it. If you know this or not, I love to shoot way more than being in front of the camera. And it isn't that I dislike getting my photograph taken, but the excitement of getting a good photo of yourself could never compete with the high of expression through capturing a moment you love. I'm after emotion - I seek creating that nostalgic feeling you get from a movie, a song, a photo that brings you* to an individual memory in your own life experiences. I shoot mostly film now for that reason because I get closer to that nostalgia, while still having opportunity to be captured in front of the camera... but my love of photography came from documenting my life and mostly the beautiful people in it (Cc: my Instagram story; @drewsdreaming). But it's a lot of fun to be semi-spontaneous, catch your breath, and see what moments you want to freeze (in contrary to my film being on the fly), and that's what this set is. It was just for fun. Zo just happens to be a dream, which makes creating the scene a bit easier. Hope you like them xx

As always, when I go home to Maine, I drive around my hometown, and I'm flooded with 20 years of memories it so conveniently holds onto for me when I'm away. I've spent the last four years of my life in NYC, but in 2019 I've spent more time here than any of the three years prior and I realized something coming home to the city Sunday... our whole life is this collection of memories and experiences, some more significant than others, and you're making them every day, wherever you are. But, when you spend the majority of your time somewhere the place is altered by your compelling moments... ordinary objects that become wrapped in a significant event, and morphed into something far more extraordinary than it's original purpose. And now I walk around the city, and ordinary buildings remain, for now, but then I'll see one that I could never see as ordinary again. Flooded. That night, that person, that moment. What a special thing. What a special way to see a place xx
