When Audrey Wang Gosselin (@dreyslashthem) realized their interest in menswear perhaps revealed something deeper about their gender identity, they wondered what menswear might do for them.

Suits might scream conservatism upon first glance, but menswear’s long been used as an expression of subversive social rebellion: expanding the boundaries of respectability and gender, among other variables.

Turning to suits as “a form of self-discovery and self-expression,” Audrey commissioned Seattle tailors Sew Generously Bespoke (@sewgenerouslybespoke) to design suits that creatively convey their values, gender, and heritage.

“I don’t want to hide, to chameleon myself into the political bland political pantone for safety’s sake,” they write. “Menswear is, oxymoronically, for everyone.”
