Our 2026 Best of the Best in Jewelry celebrates exceptional gems and the imagination, craftsmanship, and technical skill that give them form. Leading this year’s honorees is Cartier, whose Le Chœur des Pierres collection pairs chromatic confidence with extraordinary stones.

Van Cleef & Arpels finds inspiration in ancient Egypt, Bulgari composes exuberant encounters of color, and Boucheron brings an unmade 1879 design to life. Tiffany & Co.’s articulated vines and Louis Vuitton’s sculptural Fortune necklace reveal just how much engineering can lie beneath a jewel’s apparent ease.

These are creations that reward attention well beyond the first glance.

I had the honour of curating and leading a conversation with Dries Criel at Timothy Taylor Gallery, exploring the intersection of art, craftsmanship and jewellery.

From ballet to fine jewellery, ancient Egypt to contemporary architecture. I particularly loved hearing how his early years as a dancer continue to inform the movement and geometry of his designs, and how his fascination with Egyptian symbolism finds its way into such contemporary pieces.

We spoke about the importance of preserving traditional techniques, and what makes an object worth keeping for generations. As an artist, I find the relationship between the hand, the material and the idea endlessly fascinating.

Thank you, Dries, for such an engaging and generous conversation, and to @timothytaylorgallery for hosting us so beautifully.

High jewelry has always lived between history and reinvention, and this year’s most remarkable pieces continued to push that relationship forward. For Robb Report’s Best of the Best: Jewelry, maisons and designers transformed rare gemstones, archival references, and unexpected materials into creations that feel distinctly of the moment.

The top honor goes to Van Cleef & Arpels’s Beauté Légendaire necklace, which reimagines ancient Egyptian influences through the house’s signature craftsmanship. Other highlights include James de Givenchy for Taffin’s innovative use of ceramic, Louis Vuitton’s Fortune necklace, Harry Winston’s sapphire earrings, and Boucheron’s Untamed design inspired by a century-old sketch.

From floating diamonds in Lucite to contemporary interpretations of historic motifs, this year’s standouts show how the world’s finest jewelers continue finding new ways to tell stories through extraordinary materials.
