Got to pop by Secretly today to see music homies and get handed a stack of vinyl (thank you, always). Feel so grateful that as a Music Supervisor, people and organizations like this are part of my profession, business ecosystem, cultural community and legit friends. Going back to the beginning, I intuitively followed my deeply intense passion (for music) and it’s led me to so many of the life adventures I’ve had. Hoping I’ve paid - and will continue to pay - that forward. ✌️❤️

As we come to the close of the first round of Grammy voting, I want to take a moment to celebrate the color of rain.

It has been a privilege to help bring this body of work into the world. Fifteen songs, shaped by extraordinary musicianship, fearless creativity, and a shared commitment to making something that feels true to the moment we’re living in.

I’m super proud of what @ajamonet and all the musicians and collaborators have created together. This album lives at the intersection of poetry, jazz, soul, and so much more. It asks us to listen differently, to sit with complexity, and to make room for the unexpected.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this record possible, and to everyone who has taken the time to listen.

For Your Grammy Consideration: the color of rain.

Best Spoken Word Poetry Album
Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance - elsewhere ft Meshell Ndegeocello & Georgia Ann Muldrow

A day in the life on tour with Aja Monet

An early start, a nearly missed train, missing luggage, a lost voice, and a long way from home. Through it all, Aja offers an intimate look at what it takes to bring these shows from city to city, from the work behind the scenes to the connection that happens once everyone is in the room together.

“It’s not easy to be an artist. It’s not easy to be a musician at this time. I know all of us are struggling. We’re going through a lot in this world. But I want you to know you’re not alone.”

Thank God for music and poetry.

Aja’s latest album, "the color of rain" is out now. Find it on Bandcamp at the link in bio.

Honored to co-produce, record & mix “East Side Love Story”, @stpanther’s debut album, out 11/20 on @drinksumwtr. They’re truly a special talent with a special voice and message. St. Panther always has a vision and I’m here to support that first and foremost; from there we’ve built a really fulfilling and meaningful bond in both or friendship and work. This album has been an extension of their production and intention. This project and their journey to it has been an incredible labor of love but we’ll save the long story for another time. Go bump “east side girl” and pre order the album now! …we have a collab song on there too, I think it beats Kerosene.

It all started from a loop I recorded for @splice and now we’re here. The first single from the anticipated album, “East Side Love Story.” ✨💜🥁

Thank you to @marcusmyers_ and @johnmcneill42north for facilitating that initial session! This record would legit not exist without that day in @turtlestudiosmusic last summer🙏🏼

Special shoutout to @mcclenney for his incredible mixes and overall presence during the creation of these records.

Mastered by the legend @masteredbymike
