On a recent @npr conversation about rising suicide among Black Americans, Michel Martin asked a question: can the faith community play a role in harming young people when it tells LGBTQ+ people something is wrong with them?

Let’s talk about it.

What a day! 💪

Our Men’s Conference was packed with men eager to grow in faith, character, and purpose. We were honored to hear from Dr. Johnny Parker, whose message challenged and encouraged us to become 10X Better men—men of strength, integrity, and purpose.

We’re incredibly grateful for every man who attended and for a ministry that continues to help men grow into who God has called them to be. The impact of today will reach far beyond these few hours.

By learning from Jesus. With wisdom from his book, Front Stage Back Stage, Dr. Parker offers rich truths to anyone feeling worn out by the grind, helping them rediscover the purpose they were made for.

🌸🙌 What an AMAZING Mother’s Day celebration today at First Baptist Church of Glenarden International! The atmosphere was filled with powerful praise, heartfelt worship, and so much love as we honored mothers and families in a truly unforgettable service. 💖✨

🙉 A very special surprise appearance was made by legendary, award-winning gospel artist ⭐️ John P. Kee. 🎶🔥 He blessed the congregation through music, praise, and worship that lifted the entire church! 🙏🏾🎤

One of the most touching moments of the day was when John P. Kee presented a Lifetime Achievement Award to Pastor John K. Jenkins Sr. for his incredible leadership and impact. 💎👏 He also honored First Lady Trina Jenkins with a beautiful painting gift in celebration of Mother’s Day. 🌷🎨

What a powerful reminder of faith, family, honor, and legacy all in one service! If you missed it, you can still experience the blessing and watch the service online at 📲https://fbcglenarden.org 👈💻📺

The narrative presented here cuts deep into a universal, yet often silent, struggle: the historical and ongoing suppression of male vulnerability. From ancient parallels to the modern demand to kill your heart, this perspective unpacks why anger becomes the default setting when fear, anxiety, and insecurity are deemed too dangerous to voice. When society denies a man the safety to admit hurt or seek comfort, it effectively strips away the soul, leaving only the explosive mask of rage. A necessary, thought-provoking look at the cost of emotional denial. @drjohnnyparker

@drjohnnyparker 's powerful perspective dropped about the simplest, yet hardest, act of support: just hearing someone's cry. Forget agreeing; forget understanding. The core request is to grant space for the raw emotion itself. No instant fixes, no justifications for why the feeling shouldn't exist. True connection starts when we drop the judgment and just acknowledge the sound. A crucial reminder on honoring authentic vulnerability and practicing deep listening. 💡

This perspective shift is crucial. Imagine someone else holding the pen to your narrative? That thought alone should spark a re-evaluation. The powerful insight shared here cuts straight to the core: establishing your own identity is the first, non-negotiable chapter of your existence. If you don't proactively write the story of who you are, what you desire, and who you are becoming, the void will be filled by someone else’s script. Discover the foundational step: defining Who am I? using the @drjohnnyparker 's insightful framework. Claim your authorship before the draft is finalized.

This profound insight by @drjohnnyparker cuts right to the core of human desire: the fundamental need to be truly known. When someone genuinely hears and sees you, that connection is everything. It's a powerful reminder of why this need is so deep-seated, even Dr. King articulated it powerfully when describing a riot as the language of the unheard. An absolutely essential perspective on validation, connection, and what drives us.
