Dr. Kristelle Beecher (@drKristelle) is a first-generation Jamaican American, published I/O psychologist, and journalist bringing people-centered strategies back to the forefront.

As the new VP of People & Culture at Active Minds, Dr. Beecher ensures psychologically safe and productive workplaces while also supporting the organization’s mission in mobilizing youth and young adults who are changing the future of mental health advocacy.

Beyond this leadership role, Dr. Beecher is founder of The Creative Corporate, where her team guides multidimensional professionals out of plateaus and unexpected transitions into designing a purpose-driven career on their terms. She also amplifies creative voices through her podcast, Behind the Creative, and networking panel series, The Creative Clubhouse.

I’ve been trying to post this since two days- gosh last night I slept while typing out the caption! Days are really running out of my hand!

I was at a couple of curated dinners over the last week in Atlanta. I had such good conversations and was so refreshing to be around adults having full-filling conversations. Among so many conversations, ways to collaborate and support each other one thing that stood out the most is how we all are pushed into a corner and we still figure a way out of it. It’s amazing to see how resilient human beings are and how much more we could do if only we had the right support in the moment, it could be someone saying ‘ya, don’t worry- let me know how I can help you?’ or ‘I trust in you!’ or ‘Do you have sometime to meet to go over your challenge?’ or ‘Let me connect you to that person!’ And there’s some relief in knowing you are not alone and that there’s help. I think that is the most important thing someone needs while being in the middle of building and doing something.

This come out of my own struggle and for people like me who are struggling alone, times get lonely and you don’t know what to expect when no one believes in you yet, sometimes that’s YOURSELF too. Just to mitigate this- I’m curating an invite only monthly breakfast series called - The Messy Middle in Atlanta. You’ll meet founders, builders, operators, connectors in Atlanta to be one another’s sounding board! First event is in July, it’s going to be a small group. Comment ‘MESSYMIDDLE’ for the invite link.
