💻 Your workday shouldn’t leave you too exhausted to enjoy the rest of your day!

If you spend hours sitting at a desk, your workspace setup matters more than you might think.

A screen that’s too low, a keyboard that’s too far away, and a lack of back support can place unnecessary demands on your body.

Small adjustments can make a difference! Raise your screen, keep your keyboard close, support your lower back, and remember to move throughout the day.

The goal isn’t just to get through your workday. It’s to feel good enough to enjoy everything that comes after it!

📌 Save this for your next workday and share it with someone who spends hours at a desk!

You wouldn’t wait for your truck to break down before taking care of it. So why treat your body any differently? 🔧

For this TCC patient, staying active meant being able to work out, practice jiu-jitsu, and enjoy life without constantly having to take time off because of aches and pains.

Through an individualized care plan with Dr. Kyle, he’s experienced improvements in his sleep and his ability to stay consistent with the activities he loves.

His advice? Take care of your body like you take care of your truck. Regular maintenance matters!

Because the goal isn’t just to feel better today. It’s to keep doing what you love for years to come! 💙

A little full-circle moment this weekend!

My career in athletic training began at Louisiana Tech in 1997 as a student athletic trainer. After graduating, I continued at ULM, spending two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer.

Both universities played an important role in shaping my career in sports medicine and gave me experiences and relationships that I still value today.

Nearly 30 years later, it was pretty special to be back at ULM watching these two teams compete. Only this time, instead of being on the sidelines taking care of athletes, I was in the stands enjoying the game with my family.

Both universities helped shape my career in athletic training and sports medicine, and getting to share a little piece of that history with my son made the night even better.

Athletic training will always be a big part of who I am and how I approach caring for athletes today.

And yes, we’re still cheering for the Bulldogs!

Some days, getting to work feels like a mission.

Fortunately, saving the world isn’t on today’s schedule. Just helping people get back to doing what they love.

Just another day at Twin City Chiropractic.

Dr. Nix wasn’t quite @tomcruise but he chose to accept the mission… and no hamstrings were pulled filming this video.

It was fun to be back at Joe Aillet Stadium for a Tech football game tonight. It’s where my career in athletic training began almost 30 years ago. The stadium has changed a lot since then but the energy in Ruston and love for the dawgs has not! We got to see my daughter who is a freshman at Tech and sit with her for a short time. When I was talking about my days at Tech my son said “How was it in the old times dad?” 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Plus we came from behind and beat ULL!

🏈 Low back pain doesn’t always mean the problem starts in the low back.

When a young athlete tells me their back hurts, the first question isn’t just “Where does it hurt?” It’s “Why does it hurt?”

In this week’s Injury Timeout, we talk about:
• Why hip and muscle dysfunction can sometimes present as “low back pain”
• Why persistent back pain in young athletes shouldn’t automatically be dismissed as soreness
• Stress injuries we have to consider in adolescent athletes
• The risk vs. reward of constantly chasing heavier numbers in the weight room
• Why a bigger squat doesn’t automatically mean a more explosive athlete

Strength matters. But the goal isn’t just to put more weight on the bar, it’s to build an athlete who can perform.

“I didn’t do anything this weekend that could’ve made my neck hurt.”

Are you sure about that? 😂

Sometimes the evidence tells a different story.

A healthy back is about more than whether or not it hurts.

Research has linked changes in the natural curve of the low back with quality of life, and studies using lumbar extension traction have reported measurable improvements in lumbar curvature. That’s why we look beyond symptoms and evaluate how your spine is structured and functioning.

Because the goal isn’t simply to hurt less. It’s to help your body function well so you can work, move, exercise, travel, and keep doing the things you love.

Pain can get your attention, but it doesn’t always tell the whole story.

How your body moves, adapts, and handles everyday demands matters too. Looking beyond symptoms helps us better understand function and what may be getting in the way of the things you want to do.

Because the bigger goal isn’t just having a “good day.” It’s building a body that can support you through work, exercise, travel, family time, and everyday life.

Better function. More confidence. More life. 💙

Posture isn’t just about “sitting up straight.” It’s about building the strength and stability to support better movement throughout your day.

The Posture Medic band gives us another way to strengthen the upper back and scapular stabilizers while training the body through different planes of motion.

Because the bigger goal isn’t perfect posture. It’s building a body that can move well, stay strong, and keep up with the things you do every day. 💪

Getting back to feeling like yourself can mean getting back to the things you love doing.

For this TCC patient, that meant being able to work out, run around, and even coach again. 💙

Because the bigger goal isn’t just feeling better. It’s building a body that allows you to keep participating in the life you love.
